Now that you mention it, TM7 does seem to cover better on the deep balls than on the shorter routes. Seems like he's been caught a few times on the quick outs. I also hears that Simon has practiced a lot at safety in the past, so maybe we see him. He's unbelievable on deep routes.
They will most likely watch how Bama defended Arky's passing game and bring more pressure than what we did against WVU. Geno Smith's mobility and their all kinds of screen plays were what kept us from calling blitz in that game.
You are right. TM7 and Simon all seem to be more comfortable with covering deep routes than short passes.
It's time to get midevil on their redneck arse. We must bust wilson's arse on the first series, even if it means a late hit penality. So what. Don't tell me he's only a kid. Phuck that. This is for all the marbles. We win and we're in the bcscg no mater what happens in Atlanta. We need to knock this dudes arse off. Without Wilson they're nothing. We need to send his arse to the sideline with a concussion. Ring his gotdamn bell right off the bat. I don't care that he's just a kid. Bust his arse often and bust it hard. Ill intent on every hit. Make him pay for throwing the ball. Hit him low, hit him high it doesn't matter just hit his arse every time he steps back to throw the ball. Blitz one, blitz two hell bring the house. If we shake Wilson up we win. If he has all day in the pocket he will tear us apart with reed out of the game. We must bust his arse and make him not want to set up in the pocket. Make him rush his throws or throw it away. Get damn mean midevil hell bent on busting wilson's arse and we will win. They are nothing without him. Break his mudderfloppin arse in half and make him quit.
This is an LSU team that can physically punish a quarterback without playing dirty. I don't want a dirty hit at all. We bitch when other schools do it to us, so come on! With that said if Tyler Wilson hasn't learned from the Bama game and sits in the pocket continuing to try and deliver those passes when we're blitzing him hard, he will be on his back a ton and could easily be knocked out of the game.
I think we see the "Freak" coming through the middle as well. The guy really has a knack for splitting O-lineman and disrupting plays. Since we don't have to worry about playing the run as much he could be successful.
I 99% agree with you. However, I don't think we need to blitz that often to get to Tyler Wilson. Their offensive line is not stellar and our regular formations can get to him without blitzing because our secondary is good enough to provide plenty of "coverage sacks" (which is a term I hate because it downplays the efforts of the D-linemen who fight through their blocks). That is not to say that we will not blitz (because we will), I just don't think we necessarily need to blitz to get to Wilson and make the backside of his pants covered in grass stains.
