A lot of unknowns so far. Nobody really has a clue as to where this season is taking us. I thought about allowing multiple options, but then I figured you should pick the one you feel most strongly about.
Well, if we lose, we were a pretender and will be dropped like or worse than Ole Miss. We'll also lose an SEC game we can't afford to lose if we still want to be in contention in the West. If we win, we'll feel a little more legit, coupled with a good showing against FL we'll be in the thick of it to get to the SEC Western Division and we'll have to play good against the rest of the west for the trip to ATL.
I feel this is a HUGE game, probably the biggest of the season. First off its our first real test. This isnt the UGA of the past few years but still a pretty solid team. They show a lot of heart, with a pretty potent O. LSU has to show progression in all facets here. This is the best O weve played all season. LSU cant kill themselves here with drive killing penalties, poor tackling, poor play calling, the OL and DL have to step up, and JJ has to set his feet. We wont get away with the mistakes we did in each of the first 4 games. If we play like that, we lose. I think a loss puts us in a tail spin with all the really tough games. We dont seem confident at all as it is. Which is a big problem. We dont have the LSU swagger, its more of a false bravado. So a loss is critical. Id love to see LSU come out strong, trying to really pull away early. Play to win from the start.
Why would this team "break" after one road loss . . . after winning a national championship with two losses only two years ago . . . and in a year where there are going to be a lot of 1-loss contenders? Most observers predicted the Tigers were going to do no better than 10-2 this year with 9-3 more likely and 8-4 possible. Georgia on the road is definitely one of the potential losses. This team may be building for next year, but they are a damn long way from breaking or giving up from one loss.
UGA is not a 'great' team this year. I have no clue what vegas puts this game at, but it's even money in my book. A loss means we're not a 'great' team either. A win means... we'll just have to wait and see. That being said, a blowout either way tells us everything... either way. For the sake of picking the option I agree with most: A loss and we've got a year like last. The talent to compete with anyone, but for whatever excuse you want to give, we don't.
I'm hoping for a win, but a loss might bring about some changes on the offensive side and actually do us good in the long run.
B/c i feel even as we played last week we can beat UGA. SO by losing to them and by still not correcting the fundamentals of football, ( tackling and such) it will be a very long road for LSU. It only gets harder from here. Still I know we can and will win.... LSU BABY
