We just pretend we havent already played Bama? It was a close game on their turf they should have won but the best team prevailed. 1. wouldnt we want to play the number 2 team for the title? 2. We play them litterally in our back yard. Home game 3 With our resume I think it will be a "good" game since bama is no slouch but I bet we cover the spread and then some. 4. Bama is good this year but we are better. if we play our style of ball in our back yard we will win bank it. 5. We have the better team across the board. special teams, etc. they are a big strong defense with a good running back. good O line. We are too! I really think our running backs are just as good we just play more of them. we will pull away toward the end of the 3rd, they may keep it within 7 till then. I really dont look for us to even trail in the game. Im actually more worried about UGA than Bama, we will be UP for the title game.
And think about this. The JJ with the confidence he has now and the confidence we have in him passing the ball (we threw it 29 times against the Hogs, a season high), the difference that would have made in us stalling in and around the 35-40 yard line of Bama. Going 3 and out from their 15 yard line after an interception. Getting down inside the 5 only to kick a FG. Not throwing a great pass to a wide open Shepard that would have resulted in a TD. This "up to speed" JJ in that game would have resulted in a 20-6 victory.
The "home game" comment is over-rated. The Dome is NOT Tiger Stadium. The Dome doesn't seat 92K fans and the crwod will be 60-40 as opposed to 99-1%. We beat Alabama on their field. The Dome is closer to Baton Rouge than Tuscaloosa but it's still a nuetral site. Both teams will still have to sleep in hotels and practice in the same location. If Alabama makes the title game they won't show up two hours before the game like they would at Tiger Stadium. The atmosphere is much more equal than some will try to make it. ESPN tried to say the LSU/Oregon meeting was also a home game. That's just an attempt to minimize our accomplishments.
Just asking but where was that passing attack against a weak defense last week in the first half? Alabama won't wear down in the second half like Arkansas. Alabama also wouldn't have to prepare for two QB styles. If they have a month to prepare for JJ, they'll find a way to slow the offense down.
no its not an attempt to "minimize " anything our resume wasnt in place then..... ESPN was just hyping the game as they are paid to do... .... Were you on Bourbon st when we played OU in 03? New Orleans is our second home, alot more so than dallas. Dallas is a different state... trust me this is a home game..
The Tigers wore the gump D down Nov 5. They were panting in OT. We will wear them down again. No none and I mean no one prepares better than Les with a long break. Lil Nicky won't know what hit his team.
They had serious issues stopping the option play. Serious issues. Georgia Southern exposed that yet again. Practice all you want. Your 270 lb fat slow MLBs won't go on Jenny Craig during the 40 day lull I don't suppose.
Have you been to an SEC CG in the Georgia dome when we face UGA? Home game without question for them. They will occupy 3/4 or more of that place...
12-17 136 yards 1 TD, 0 Int I'll expand that over the entirety of a game: 24-34 272 yards, 2 TDs, 0 Int, 157.2 QB Rating You want to ask that question again?
I sat in the Dome for the '03 game, '07 game and a dozen other bowl games including watching LSU in four Sugar Bowl games in the Dome. I understand we have the upper hand but it's not the same advantage you have playing at your "true" home. Period.
