I would hope Alleva buttoned up those unknowns, such as speaking with Aranda and ensuring his commitment to LSU, a pledge from O's OC, BDP packing his bags, etc. it will really be a bad situation if O was hired on contingencies and they all fall apart. We will end up with a position coach at a top 5 school with absolutely no staff to ensure success.
I wouldn't want a guy to get promoted over me after I had one of the best defenses in the country. Only to be my boss for the next few years. Aranda will be like who will be next to get promoted over me?
Aranda may feel he is not ready to be HC. He may also like O and enjoy working with him. Just speculation though. Plus this is not O's first time at the helm.
To me aranda with his quiet demeanor looks like a lifetime nfl coordinator. Doesn't seem like a college fit... He barely speaks.

From my standpoint, that's pretty speculative. O was already promoted over him, and Aranda didn't seem to care. There's also word that Aranda will be getting a raise with the money we saved on O. There's also the fact that O is a great dude, and it's kind of hard to get mad at him getting the head coaching spot.
My son thinks he is a savant because he looks so helpless. Says he's probably a genius at D but can't order a cup of coffee.
To date I haven't heard anying but positives about Aranda staying at LSU. Heard and raise and extension and has confirmed that much with our administration.
I hope this is the case. If it isn't then Alleva needs to be hung up on a dartboard and we all play dizzy darts at him.
