My Tigers are going on the road for a SEC game - they show up ! D shuts down Ole Miss JJ starts the game and runs about 100% of the 1st half. I think that Les sees for us to win out he will need JJ to be more than just a part time runner. JL comes in and does very well and shows no signs of not playing much in the WK game or problems from the Bama game. LSU wins LSU 47 Ole MIss 6
Personally I'd rather see Lee excel in the passing game because I like his attitude better, but that's just my preference. I'm really looking for one or the other to have lots of success passing, that's my main goal. Maybe some mop up time for Mett in the last drive or two.
I'm looking for offensive productivity. I'm not as worried about our D ... they are real good, and heck, OM won't have it's two main play makers. OM shouldn't even score. On the otherhand, I want to see an offense that comes out scoring early. Whether it be by a long sustained drive, or a lightening strike, I want to see 7's gonig up on the board starting in the first quarter. I'd really like to see Lee run the option a tad more, and I'd like to see JJ do some more passing. Most of all, I'd like to see CLM show equal confidence in both of the guys ... his favorite, as well as the guy who's been most responsible for us being where we are at.
No way in hell. I don't want Lee running a play in which the intended outcome is to get his ass body slammed by a big DE or OLB as he pitches the ball out at the last second. Although in his case, he releases the ball about 8 seconds too soon
Lee is as much of an option QB as I am an Olympic athlete. This game will tell us for sure whether Les really wants to utilize a dual-QB system the rest of the season or stick primarily with Jefferson. Not necessarily by who starts, but whether JJ is still in the game after the half if we're up by 3 scores.
works for me I don't care what QB starts and I would like to see both QBs run close to the same sets vs one being the passing QB and the other one being the running QB !
LSU Offense -- Score early and often, as in hang 50+ points on Ole Miss. Get JL back into what he does best, pound the ball, and work in some play action. JJ should get fewer snaps than JL, and Mett gets the 4th quarter. LSU Defense -- Pitch a shutout. Create turnovers and maybe score 2 TD's on defense. LSU Special Teams -- Will Wing even have to punt? How about TM7 retruns a punt for a TD. :geauxtige
So ..you don't mind if JJ gets his azz body slammed by a big DE or OLB? Interesting. Personally, I think it would do Lee a world of good to run the option a few times. Maybe people would stop thinking he's made of glass. Sure, he won't break any 15-20 yrd runs, but I think he'd be good for 4-5 if he kept the ball. Of course, the goal of the option is always to suck in the DE/OLB, and pitch the ball to the real runner anyway. BUT .. I don't think it's going to matter much anyway .. JJ will play the majority of the game, and Mett will mop up 4th quarter.
