Ahhhh Parso good to see you showed up. So can you tell us what you think about our team now? I think you were rated the number 1 apologist on the forum
I'm not an apologist. I'm rational and give the benefit of the doubt before making conclusions. We're a very inconsistent team this year, but I still feel good about the health of the program assuming changes are made before next season.
CP we rarely agree but we want the same thing and that is for our team to be consistent, disciplined and a winning program. With that I think this is a very important off season for CLM. If for some reason he thinks Mallory or Peveto alone can be the DC we are in deep trouble. What changes do you think needs to be made?
If the firings don't happen till after NSD then we lose again - we lose a lot of time. We should have a new Defense Coordinator here as soon as possible to get his new coaching staff here and working on improving every single aspect of the defense. NSD is Feb 4th. That is at least 1 month of wasted time ( just using Jan 1 as the start date.) And this Defense needs all the time they can get to get the shipped righted. I completely agree, but we should already have a game plan on what coaches we need/would like.
Do you really think Saban gives a crap about his perception when he berates a player? More than that, what's been the impact of those tirades on a player? Randall Gay comes to mind. A coach can't be what he's not, and how he acts toward a player is determined by his leadership style. Saban, Muschamp, every once in a while Meyer, et al, wear their emotions on their sleeve. Not saying it's right or wrong, just their style. What these guys have shown, however, is their ability to get the most out of their players. Haven't seen that from LSU. If anything, it's been a steady regression. Everyone, from the a/coaches, to players, to training room guys, and administrative staff take their cue from the head coach. It is blatantly obvious Miles has not pressed the right buttons in public or behind closed doors.
I think folks are selling Lee short and giving Jefferson too much credit. Lee stepped up and won against Auburn and Troy. Jefferson couldn't do much against Ole Miss and only had a half of success against Arkansas. I like mobile QBs, I think Jefferson could be a good QB, but I think tossing Lee out with the trash is premature.
I agree whole heartedly... but as much as I defended Lee (and think he will be good) I hate to say it JJ has shown more progress than Lee in only a few short quarters of play.
