OK, reword. Miles didn't fully develope the ridiculous talent in the players he had. I blame this all on Miles' shutting down the offense. We never put JJ in position to play the same way he did in the first half because we were busy running at the 9 in the box. Hopefully. and if so, no big deal. Do you really think the team hass progressed? What I mean is throw out the luck we had last year, and it would be crystal clear that the 2006 team was better than 2007, and the 2007 team was better than 2008. See where this is going? The earlier we do it the better. Recruiting will be affected very little because there is no doubt they will be gone. And we get first shot at any big name that will come available. Hell someone may make themselves available BECAUSE the job is open here.
I think CParso is saying we will go after someone behind closed doors, make the decision to pick someone and keep it silent, except for letting a couple of possible key defensive recruits in on it. Is that about right CParso? The only thing I disagree with is it should be announced as soon as it is known following the bowl game.
90% of their development was under Miles. I'll be starting a thread on this... The defense changed their game plan, and when Jefferson didn't have running to bail him out he started struggling to pass. Jefferson only had a limited playbook to deal with, which Arkansas' defense caught onto fairly quickly. It's a very big deal, but I'm not worried - changes will be made. And how do you expect 08 to be? Worse than 07? If so, please feel free to wager some money on it with me. It's got pro's & con's. Regardless, I don't expect it to happen before NSD.
I don't think the firing will be until after NSD. IMO, the only way it happens before them is if there are some specific defensive coaches that we want to get a jump on. I'm not seeing anyone in particular that would require us to move immediately. Bad coaches are better than no coaches as far as recruiting goes.
I'm not talking about time. The point is they were never developed to their potential. Oh there is no doubt the playbook wasn't as thick. But they never shut down the rollout with the pass run option. We quit running it. I think the talent is here now for another run at an SEC champ. If we have a worse season, Miles will be fiored before it's over. There will be no excuses. You may be right. If you are it will be Miles final mistake of the season.
i don't know why you keep going to this, this is a completely unprovable point. i'd say jacob hester was developed beyond his potential, but that's an opinion and i can't prove it so i don't normally say it.
During halftime, Tim Brando reported that Tenn. would be hiring LKiffen (which has been talked about a lot already) and that he would be bringing in EOgerron. If that is the case, do you think Ogerron is someone we would move on before them?
I hate Ed O. I'd have very mixed feelings on us hiring him, so I can't say that he'd be worth jumping on.
Care to give examples? Whether they shut it down or not, it quit being as effective. Jefferson's passing percentage was horrible in the 2nd half. His passes were just off. We will still be having QB issues next year, but even still it should not be worse than this year. Because you're overly-impulsive.
