Lots of NFL coaching opportunities arise every off-season. Has there ever been any interest in luring Coach Miles to the NFL?

He probably would not take the pay cut, but, it is curious that there has never been any interest expressed.

I would think that after coaching LSU to lofty heights for over a half-decade, that some NFL owner might want an interview with him.

Perhaps there has been some interest expressed and we lowly fans simply have not heard anything of Coach Miles's agent's phone ringing from the calls of the NFL owners. Simply because we haven't heard of such events does not mean that they never happened.

This is just my opinion and I'm probably wrong, but I don't think his coaching style would translate to success in the NFL. I also don't think NFL players would respect him.

I don't know why, but I kind of have to agree with this!

The only time a coach is mentioned for a job is when he covertly lets his agent know he is interested in change. His name briefly came up in the Dolphins search but I imagined him telling his agent, "Nah...I'm good." It went away...

One of the most storied college football programs in all the land (Michigan) has come BEGGING for Les Miles not once...but TWICE...and he was LOYAL to LSU and the State of La. Too bad that loyalty isn't being given back to him by some of our "fans".

Espn was talking about Miles going pro and him being flirted with several times this year as well. Has Urban Meyer gone pro? Mack Brown? And Saban TANKED when he did it! I'm having a hard time understanding how far some of you will stretch to say he's a bad coach.

Let the record over his tenure speak for itself. Geez...

    Or Petrino.

Besides, Miles himself has stated that he's better suited to be a college coach. Take it fwiw.

Speaking of mailing it in ... Did you catch the interview before the game when Miles' was asked what he told his team in the locker room? His response was that he told his team to relish the moment. Sorry, but that doesn't work.

Something more along the lines of "Play for Victory" was what I expected to hear. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYYZJO3XiPc]Les Miles - Play For Victory - YouTube[/ame]

This is the kind of fire that wins Championships. Not, "enjoy the moment". That moment is for coffee and beignets.
