If you think our board is tough to deal with, Texas is an entire different level of meddling. Latest reports are that BYU is now off the table for expansion and if that is true I'd say there is no way this happens. Houston simply cannot be the big fish.
Yes. BYU's Honor Code will prevent them from joining any large conference and the Big 12 now has its championship game anyway. No reason to add two more little schools to the money split.
Admittedly I haven't seen these contracts, but why would a buy out clause apply if the coach voluntarily left?
Is it a different kind of buyout? Maybe the school gets paid if the coach under contract leaves for another job.
Someone posted that Herman doesn't get $5M/yr IF Houston goes to the Big 12, but rather a $5M bonus split up over 2 seasons, and base salary would remain what it is, $3M/yr unless UoH just wants to give him a raise. UoH couldn't begin to afford nor compete in a bidding war with LSU if it went that route.
I doubt LSU goes minority as well...but a couple names on the odds list. One relatively high up is Willie Taggart. Another name being tossed around isn't the Bama assistant most are talking about (Kiffin). It's the one Saban values the most...Burton Burns.
Saturday will give the media types other things to talk about. The LSU job won't go away as a story but it will go to the back burner once football games are played.
Meh I don't know, it will cool down and then heat up again. If recruits read this board I wonder if potential coaching hires do as well? Hey Tom, ever had boudin?
