this is my concern. We have a long long time before any of these potential coaches can or will commit. So in the mean time we have jack holes like brando poisoning the freaking well.
5 years and $28 million should get Herman, plus bonuses, his buyout and the assistant's salaries 7 years and $50 million would get Fisher, plus bonuses, his buyout and assistant's pay (He has $44 mill left on his FSU deal I think) 6 years and $60 million would get Meyer or Saban
The word is he has a friendship with Aranda so that may help "if" the money's right. Pretty sure Alleva and King screw it up. King will ruin LSU if they don't get him out of there.
Going to be hard for Herman to not come out with some public statement soon. Jimbo has had to deny no interest twice and it hasn't been a week. If LSU came out with a public statement they were pursuing the coaching search at the end of the regular season, that would snuff out some of the media speculation. Then, of course, just go incognito with the agents.
I hope they are smart enough to keep this quiet. I also know they can't. They won't shut up about LSU up here. O needs to get this rolling and fast.
Agreed, but you just have to trust the coaches are smarter than the media and they are. If Herman wants to come to LSU nobody will know until after he accepts the job.
Lets get this straight guys. NOT ONE of the coaches currently coaching a team will be sucked into the media question to answer any rumors surrounding their intent to leave for LSU or any possible or open coaching job. The Top Tier open jobs at the end of the year will be Texas, LSU, USC, MAYBE Notre Dame and then 2nd tier Auburn. By all accounts the leading sexy candidate is Herman. Outside of Saban and Meyer it is going to be his choice of these schools. No one is going to offer him Saban money unless he wins the National Championship this year. If Strong loose 4 games and to Oklahoma he maybe done. So we are looking at least 6 million per year if Texas, USC, and LSU are bidding. So they are going back to Fisher, and if Strong available maybe (not sure TAF ready for minority coach and Strong has struggled with Texas Boosters). so many unknowns so strap it on. My dark horse is Larry Fedora at North Carolina. Coach O is not on the list guys; I hope they are on the up with him.
