 PC would no more work for him than he would take the DC job working for Rick Neuheisel (not that it's available mind you). Al Davis is a crazy old man and the most power hungry SOB in the league. Lane Kiffin was his second choice after he interviewed Sark. The more he behaves this way, the harder it will be to attract a really seasoned coach. He'd do the Raiders and Pro Football a favor if he'd sell the team.
I can understand the Cameron firing in Miami. Bill Parcells wants to come in and clean house and start from scratch, get his own people in there, etc, even though Cameron was there only one year. I get that. But this? Kiffin inherited a bad team to begin with and the Front Office didn't exactly help him out with the negotiations (or lack thereof in my opinion) with JR. Davis asking Kiffin to resign after one season shows just how senile he really is.
i can promise you kiffin is not being fired based on performance. it probably has more to do with power.
ESPN is saying Al wants Dennis Green as his replacement. That wouldn't be that bad, I suppose. Green is a good QB guy. Culpepper and Leinart both thrived under him. So that'd be good for JaMarcus.
Why do you say that? Just because Al wrote Kiff's resignation letter for him? I'll give Lane a bonus point for telling Al to shove that letter. What's sad is I wouldn't want a good guy like Dennis Green to go there. Davis has really ruined what was once a solid organization that was fun to watch.
I thought Lane was doing a hell of a job there, atleast they don't have the #1 pick this year. Also he didn't even get to use their #1 pick because of the front offices goof up with the contract.
Hell, Crazy Al probably wants to hire Madden as his coach and sign Stabler & Bilnetikoff to free agent contracts.
