My opinion, would like to hear yours! 1. Offensive Line Play - It's just not good. Coaching or Talent Issue? 2. Offensive Play Calling - Coaching issue 3. Defensive Line Play - No pressure on opposing QB's, Coaching or Talent? 4. Alem is ineffective - Good Guy, just getting pushed around this year 5. Injuries - No one to blame there ! 100% Tiger Fan - But not a big fan of our present coaching staff! :insane: CC
while i agree on alem somewhat, he has come on a little bit at the end of the year (lil bit). so i wouldn't put him in the top 5 but it's a problem nonetheless. i like your list and i like the order. i would replace #4 with defense on the field too long and offensive snap differentials (i.e. other teams getting way more snaps and Ttime of poss) . both link back to offense not being able to sustain drives but the defense has issues too with missed tackles and the ineffectiveness of chad jones at safety (i said it). sometimes the D is the reason they can't get off the field.
1. Coaching- Kids arent getting coached up at all this year. Zero improvements at all 2. Play calling- Its straight up atrocious. There is no continuity to the play calling. Poor personnel decisions. Way too predictable. 3. OL- A product of coaching and new starters. 4. DL- Lacking the big time talent this year to free up others with double teams. No pass rush either doesnt help. 5. Leaders- This team seems to lack leaders to step up and demand more from players.
1. Offensive Line- often mediocre, but is young and light. I expect good improvement next year. 2. Injuries- not much you can do beside recruit comic book heroes 3. Offensive Play calling- Coaching issue. Miles gets the blame because he's the head coach and should know when to step in, but Crowton calls the plays on offense a majority of the time. 4. Defensive errors- mistackles, slipping, getting pushed around, etc. We have a new DC for this year, and it takes time to fully implement what a new boss wants as his scheme. In time, it will turn out ok. 5. Defensive play calling- no blitzes, zone coverage getting blown time and time again, etc. I think this boils down to the DC trying to keep it simple so that it can be carried out effectively. Possibly, he saw how complicated the offense was, and tried to avoid what has happened to it on his side of the ball. In short, all of these things can be mastered with time, tweaking, and patience. I, however, want Crowton out, but I wouldn't be suprised if he gets another year to prove he's a genius:hihi:
Discipline is another issue... once we do get things moving penalties on the o side of the ball are killing us.
You think Alem has come on and Jones is ineffective. I think you may have that backwards. I think I could run the ball effectively to Alem's side. And thats 29 year old, 6'2 245lbs me.
We know you love you some CJ but dude just doesn't have his heart in it anymore. There was a play in the LaTech game where he sat down. I mean he literally SAT HIS A$$ on the turf and tried to make a tackle. The old CJ would have tried to jar the guys teeth loose. Mine are as follows. 1. Les Miles
My top 5: 5. Our quarterback play hasn't been great. Jefferson has progressed, and i thought he was still nursing his injury against Ole Miss. QB play has to get better. 4. 3. and 2. Coaching has been pathetic this season. The play calling and player personnel has been more suspect this season than any i can remember. Poor game management skills at the head coaching spot, not developing talent, but mostly the play calling has been insane. The offensive line has improved. If you take the sacks out, LSU running backs on the season are averaging 5.4 yards per carry. 1. Defensive line, you have all seen it, we are getting gashed, and not getting any pressure from the front 4 or 3.
I hope everyone is calling out the O line because of pass protection because LSU running backs are averaging 5.4 yards per carry on the season.
