Kid isn't even 19 years old yet. In fact, there's a large contingent of this team that is less than a year removed from their high school prom. Not an easy task to throw them in against a well seasoned team in a hostile environment at night on the road. Just too much to overcome. It's very easy to get down on this team but this is the kind of stuff they are going to go through with where we are right now as a team. This is the other side of the coin of having such a huge number of underclassmen go to the NFL over the past few years. It's not all youth. The coaching staff really didn't do these kids many favors. It seemed like it was just too simplified and to cautious. On offense I would have liked to see them turn the team loose. I understand not wanting to put any kid through another "Lee Experience" but when the game was getting out of hand, why not let the players play. Reigns were too tight on the offense. Defensively I know we are banged up and young up front with probably our best future run-stuffer waiting for SEC clearance, but I'm not sure that we are putting our best players on the field in the right situations. Bottom line is there are many things that could have been done differently. I think the staff is being a little too conservative as they bring this team along. I understand why they are doing it this way and that this is called re-building. I also think this team is going to get better and I do think these tough lessons of 2014 are going to translate into great things for the next few years. Not just one season. Many of us knew this was a 3 or 4 loss team this year. That knowledge doesn't make it easier to watch, but we have to keep things in perspective. Remember also that LSU started off this SEC season with two of the best teams in the West. MSU and AU are playing at their peak right now. Ole Miss aint far behind and you saw what they did to Bama yesterday. Can't lose the volume and quality of talent that we did and come back the following year and expect to compete against teams that are further down the road than us. Our time too will come. For now we are just going to have to take it one game at a time.
This ain't on Chavis. LSU's D made stops last night and the O didn't capitalize on it's chances. This is Auburn, they score on everyone. We made stops. Then our offense stunk it up (again to the infinityth power) and a gassed D had to stop them. This loss lies directly on the head of Leslie Edwin Miles.
Johnny Foosball and Jameis Winston won heismans as freshmen and broke records doing it. It can be done.
Auburn scored 24 points in their first four possessions. That's Chavis. This was a team loss. It's on the O and the D, on Miles, Cameron, Chavis, Brick,......
So you always expect LSU to give up 35 points in the first half to Auburn? It's the offense's fault? I agree with you brother, the offense did nothing to help the defense out. Left them on the field way too much. But if you think Chavis had his boys ready to play high quality SEC defensive football we watched two different games.
I dont understand what people dont understand about this or maybe they are just spouting out negativity without doing their research. Harris will be a star
A goddamn game plan that called for 17 of the first 20 first down plays being runs. That's what happened to Harris. Phuck you Les Miles for coming up with the same bone-headed game plan you had vs Mississippi State. The weakest part of both of these teams is their secondary, yet you decided to ram the ball down their throats. Unsuccessfully, of course.
