It's too hard for the Oline to get in sync with 2 QBs. Too much confusion, false starts, misreads etc.
...not to mention the predictability of a two-QB system. I want one to develop the ability to do it ALL. I think we can teach JJ the long ball, but we can't "teach" J-Lee into some legs.
1. You kill whatever confidence JJ has. 2. Everyone else is right, just because Lee can hit a few 5 yard throws does not mean he is ready to start slinging the ball all over the field yet. I say give JJ the reigns, if he gets in there and just totally blows it in a game, and i mean is horrible, loses his composure, throws picks, incomplete passes, head hanging, then yank him for Lee, or Shep. But until then JJ is our qb, and lets hope he improves daily. But i do think that you have to be ready to yank him. One of the problems last year was the coaching staff had no problem just riding a wounded animal until it just died on the field. I hope they do not do that this year.
the backup qb will always be the most popular guy. everyone wanted lee out of there last year. this year, b/c he's not playing, you want him back. just goes to show how fans are never really happy with anything.
Two-quarterback system, where they alternate series . . . No. But two quarterbacks ready to go makes a lot of sense. Lee needs to get a drive in from time to time before an injury to Jefferson forces him into the game.
Don't really care for the whole 2 QB system. I remember in the 80s LSU did it with success but it really wasn't a 2 QB system. Guidry would come in for Hodson for usually a series in the first half and one for the second half. No matter what Guidry came in, Hodson could be hot or cold the plan was to get Guidry in when he was suppose to get in. Hodson seemed to like it as well, Guidry was an able QB in his own right. That switching out every other freaking play is not going to work long-term. A few snaps here or there or a special play is ok. Right now this team is suffering from the lack of identity, too many personnel changes and trying to customize too many plays for specific players. As far as JJ, no in my gut I don't think it will work out but I don't know that. He has earned a shot in my book either way, I believe the OC isn't really giving him a shot just like the OC failed last year. To predictable with personnel and formations... everyone in the house knows what plays are coming. So, no don't like a 2 QB system like they did last year but if there is play or a series you want another QB in there I think that is fine.
