Can't help but notice how well Lee has played when he has gotten the chance this year. That TD pass he threw was right on the money. I think Miles should incorporate Lee and give him several scripted plays each game. Bring him in and sit Jefferson out for a few plays to calm him down a bit. Not only will it give our back-up QB more confidence but it will also promote more team unity on and off the field. Seems like Jefferson could be a bit injury prone. Nothing wrong with getting Lee some PT. Let him hand the ball off a few times. Give him a few screen passes but nothing more then 10 yards. I think I would rather see Lee on the field more then Russell Shepard. CLM should sit RS out till next year. Unfortunately everyone in the stadium knows RS is going to run up the middle and get killed or run out of bounds into the flag holders. RS is not ready for this kind of live action. These aren’t freshmen in high school. Give his plays to Lee and watch to point totals go up!:geaux:
So far all of Lee's passes have pretty much been safe drop down passes. That's why he's looked so good. It's pretty much impossible for it to get intercepted and returned to the house...I think...
Lee has played a grand total of 3 plays in 3 games and already you want to go to a 2 QB system? What are you smoking?
NOT JUST HELL NO BUT HELL ****ING NO!!! Jarrett "Pick 6" Lee only needs to be in the game during mop up
JLee was never suppose to start last season. He WAS sent to the fire FOR THE TEAM. I don't know that I'd want JLee starting, not because I think he's aweful, but because he blew his confidence out last year. But while I might not be sure if he can still compete (I'm not saying he CAN'T, I just don't know) I still have the utmost respect for what JLee did last season. Let's not forget that JJ almost had 2 pick 6's against ULL when he tried to pass downfield. It's certainly not all rosey at QB position, YET.
You're right, that TD was right on the money, but it was a 1-yard pass with a guy wide open. He did a good job with it, but it wasn't exactly difficult. No, we shouldn't sit out RS. Did you see Julio Jones for Alabama last year? You know, that guy that killed us. Yeah, he was a freshman. You use your freshman when they're incredibly talented. If everyone in the stadium knows that RS is going to run up the middle and he continues to average just about 7 yds. per carry as he has done with his first couple of touches, then that's a good sign. You're right, these aren't freshmen in high school, but he has already made a few look like they are and he's only touched the ball a few times.
I suspect you'll see RS throw his first pass or two in the "big" games. Till then, CLM apparently won't play that card. When the linebackers and safeties come up for his typical running play, ...zing goes the long ball, which RS has the arm to throw. That might be against GA, but more likely against FL. How sweet it is....ldskule:
Nothing against JJ, and I'm a huge supporter of JL, but.... Until we get ONE quarterback sure of himself in the pocket, we don't need to be splitting up any other PT. Maybe once JJ gets comfy back there, something like that can be tried. We know JJ can throw down the field, we saw it in the bowl game last year. He's just working out his nerves and kinks. And if that means that we go three and out and punt, then I'd rather that happen then throw another qb to the SEC defensive wolves and have him set a record for pick 6's.
