I think Ole Miss gave LSU a stronger challenge than the big bad Sooners.I read where Hill said Ole Miss gave them more of a challenge. What do tiger fans think? Do we give yall a tougher game than OU? Way to represent the SEC. The Weak 12 was so overrated.
Ole Miss is a good team and I give them credit, but LSU played one of the worse games of they year that day. Mauck through 3 picks on yalls side of the 50 and our offensive play calls were horrible. So I would have to say Oklahoma would beat the Rebels if they were to play but I think it would be closer than the people think.
i agree with you and i read an article this morning where Marquise Hill said pretty much the same thing that you are saying. ( I believe it was Hill, I've read so many articles that they are running together) The Sooners and the Big 12 were highly overated. and Thier very fortunate that this game could've been much worse on the scoreboard like 28-0 or 21-0
No they're not. WE were underrated the entire year and we proved we are the best team in college football by beating the hands-on favorite. Ole Miss is/was underrated this year. They should have been top 10 when we played them in Oxford.
In no way is Ole Miss even close to the caliber team that OU is. That was a tremendous effort by lsu last night. Ole Miss would not be able to pass or run on OU. We played even worse in the OLE Miss game than the fl. game. Did u see what okl. did to okl. st. , i guess you think that that was close to the 31-28 thrashing by the rebels. Not even close.
I would give the edge to Oklahoma, Rebelnut. Oklahoma was a powerhouse throughout the season. They just obliterated everyone (except Alabama) during the regular season. Then, a lot of forces collided in the Big XXII championship game that cost the Sooners dearly. They ran into a talented Kansas State team that had a great gameplan, great preparation, and just put it all together and played their best game in years. Oklahoma got to reading their press clippings, knew they didn't have to win the game to get into the national championship game, and were flat. They figured they'd be able to turn it on and beat K State, but Snyder's bunch would hear nothing of it. Next up came LSU, a very, very, talented team with great coaching. Give a coach like Nick Saban the talent that he had to work with, especially on defense, and a month to prepare, and it's extremely difficult to beat him. If I had to rank the teams, I would put LSU at #1 (obviously!) and Oklahoma and USC tied for # 2. I still don't think there was anyone better in the country than those three. Ole Miss would rank down a bit, IMO. A pretty good team with a great QB, but not in the same league as Oklahoma. I would, though, put Ole Miss in or near the top 10 as of the end of the year. They improved tremendously over the course of the season. Unlike some of the other members here, I don't believe necessarily that LSU just played a poor offensive game against Ole Miss this year. The Ole Miss defense had a lot to do with LSU's poor offensive performance. They played lights out in that game - probably their best defensive performance in years. I can't say I was too surprised, though. I've witnessed many, many LSU-Ole Miss games in my lifetime. It's been a heckuva rivalry, and this year reminded me of what it was like in the 70s and 80s.
I don't know if OleMiss has better team, but after wathing both Eli and Jason White in person. ELI IS HANDS DOWN THE BETTER QB OF THE TWO.
I didnt see much last night from the OU. That Heisman trophy winner certainly didnt play like it. He played scared all night, and rightly so with those monsters in his face every play.
