What he said. I have never understood the infatuation with this guy, other than his daughter used to be an LSU student.

Why don't we hire Petrino to be our OC? Anything would be better than being a hog.

Jack Del Rio has zero college coaching experience, and that's a huge red flag. And in 7 years as an NFL head coach, he's only been to the playoffs twice. What is so impressive about the guy?

Why is it a red flag to not have any college experience? We know that he can coach. He coached LBers at Baltimore, the DC at Carolina when both teams went to the Superbowl largely on the strength of their defense. He's learned under some very good coaches (Billick, John Fox) he's groomed at least one good head coach (Mike Smith, Atlanta). In his playing days he was always known as one of the more intelligent players on the field. He relates well to players now and that's easily translated over to 18-19 year old kids being recruited by a former NFL head coach whose a high-energy guy to boot. You don't see guys rise as rapidly as he did from player to head coach without some serious coaching chops. It;s just a bonus that he's stated that LSU is a place that he'd like to coach if given the opportunity. He really likes the Louisiana and like any NFL coach, he sees the talent that originates from this state.

Jacksonville's issues lie a lot deeper than head coach, but you never expect a guy to take his first head coaching job as far as Del Rio has taken his. It's a better resume than a certain Michigan State Head Coach (brought up with assistant coaching jobs at Kent State, Syracuse, Navy, etc.) or Oklahoma State Head Coach (brought up with assistant coaching jobs at Michigan, Colordao, etc.) that won BCS titles at LSU.

Its moot anyway because Miles isn't going anywhere. We'll finish this season with 2-3 losses and a bowl win. Then Crowton will "find" a job somewhere at another school so Miles can promote Gonzales and then find an offensive assistant to coach QB's.

Chris Petersen has a special needs child and has stated he will not move his family anywhere. He'll be at Boise State for life.

Mike Riley could've gone to USC among other places. He has a lifetime contract at OSU ans is from the area. He isn't going anywhere either.

Can't get a better coach than Les Miles, like I said.

Can you give an instance? Just curious...

Remember, his list is for active coaches CAREER records...not just at their current school.
