Bullsh!t. You don't KNOW that he did anything that any of the rest of the team that was there did. Just because someone says you did something does not mean you did it. There are people who were there who SAY he did NOT commit a second degree felony. They SAY he was NOT INVOLVED. So, just because some SAY he did, you want to throw away his career? That is just STUPID.

If it is PROVEN that he did commit the battery, let CLM and the courts discipline him accordingly. As of now, all we know for sure is that he, and a bunch of other players, broke curfew by honoring a tradition that has gone on for a long time. It's people like you that jump to conclusions before a trial that drive me absolutely nuts. JJ and the rest gain absolutely NOTHING POSITIVE as far as their cases are concerned by trying this in the media. Your lack of understanding this is flabbergasting.

I just love how fickle some Tiger fans are all of a sudden reguarding JJ.

For 2 years, the majority of EVERYONE here was calling him crap...Pleading for Miles to make a switch and to recruit the QB position heavily.

Miles responds with Mettenberger and Rivers to headline the signing class. Everyone rejoices.

Spring game comes and goes and rumblings are of how JJ hasn't shown enough improvement and that we'll fall flat on our Tiger-painted faces if he's the "same ole JJ"...

Now, all of a sudden, because JJ is facing being charged with a felony (a charge that carries a 5-year sentence if convicted), and Miles has to decide if he's going to be suspended or not and the potential that JJ might very well not be on the team, people are up in arms over losing him because now all of a sudden, Lee isn't good enough to replace JJ....Mettenberger isn't good enough to replace JJ....and losing JJ (a QB that is only climbing up LSU record lists because he happened to play in a 4-year period that we didn't have a clear-cut challenger and he held on to the starting role for 3+ seasons)???

Tell me which way any and all of you want it. Because you can't have it both ways.

That would go over with Mettenberger like a lead balloon.

Look at Mr. Tough guy calling someone "STUPID" behind his keyboard.

Looks like your comprehension is just as "STUPID" because I said that's what I WOULD DO following the completion of the investigation. (you don't like it? Tough. Sh*t. This is a forum of OPINION and I voiced mine. You want to handle it differently? Fine. Make your point without being a cyber-tyrant and mancho man by throwing out words like "STUPID").

I can say you're harrassing me but just because I say it and you say "no I didn't" doesn't mean that charges are automatically filed. Investigators...you know, investigate to see how many people accurately state the same line of events...from there, if you've got enough of one type of answer, that determines whether or not charges are filed.

Just said it was an option to super guy up above telling me how stupid I was for "throwing away JJ's career".

I bash schools like VT, Miami, FSU, Ohio St and USC for "loose or light" penalties for thuggish behavior of their players so I'm not about to have a double standard just because we're now talking about my own school.

None of these players are exactly innocent as they were in a place that they shouldn't have been in the first place. People all of a sudden fail to realize that. So, my point about bumping them to practice squad until the investigation and subsequent penalties is a course of action that I WOULD TAKE.

It's not like I said, "Roar!!! ALL of them are kicked off ASAP!"

Kyle, I've got to agree with Atl on this one. If JJ gets charged, he has to sit until his name is cleared. Pardon me for sounding cliche', but playing for LSU is not a right, its a privelege that comes with standards of behavior. As many as 50 players were at Shady's but only 4 are under suspicion. The rest managed to get out of there after having some harmless fun, and paid for their rule violation with extra running. But the fact that JJ (and the other 3) put themselves in a position to where multiple people can make accusations that are being taken seriously, shows a serious lack of judgement and responsibility that merits extra attention. IF....and this is a huge IF I'm putting out here....IF charges are brought forward, CLM's first responsibility is to the football program. LSU plays most of its games on national TV, either ESPN or CBS. Can you imagine the negative publicity that would come about if JJ is taking snaps while on trial? It would be the dominant "story" of every LSU telecast, and there's no way the program comes out looking good. Every school we recruit against would use it against us with everybody we recruit. And it sends a very mixed message about discipline to the players now on the team. Not to mention, how focused on football will JJ be if he's on trial?

IF he goes to trial, and is suspended, and IF he's proven innocent, its lost time for him to be sure. But, as Atl pointed out, he does have a redshirt season in his pocket, and he hopefully comes out of the ordeal as a more disciplined, mature young man.

All that said, I'm rooting for no charges at all.

    There are two issues here!

    1. I really ain't passionate about the quarterback situation. If Jefferson had gotten a high ankle sprain in practice, we would be right in the same place regardless of the fight. Lee and Mettenberger are ready.

    2. I am passionate about LSU's reputation being tarnished by this crap. There must be consequences for all involved.

What's even more "flabbergasting" is that you failed to even understand the point of this thread:

It's entitled, "WHAT CHOICE DO YOU MAKE IF YOU ARE MILES?"

I answered the question as to what I WOULD DO. So your statement about waiting to see what is proven and then to let CLM decide just illustrates your ignorance to the entire thread in general.

So spare me your indignation and "flabbergasting" comments. Learn to understand what you read before spouting off at the mouth.

I'm actually in the same corner as you, Red. No one player is bigger than the program so tarnishing LSU's reputation by it's own players is something I want corrected and avoided for the future.

Hmm, show me where I called you stupid. You can't do it. You said you would suspend JJ from the team until his trial was over. You said JJ threw away his career. I said that the charges have not been proven and to throw away his career before being proven guilty would be stupid.
