If you look at the Dawg game in the SECCG I think the 1st half will help LSU vs Bama. The Dawgs had LSU nailed and had the Bama D package ready and set. What LSU did in the second half of the game with a varied attack against the 3-Big 4 package gives LSU just what they need to break down Nick and his front 7 stop the run set. Bama and Georgia fight the same fight. The front 7 with a 3-4 set is a rush stopping set. You need huge up front guys with the primary guy being the DT over center. They play huge OSLB's that play the gaps and allow the FS to give double help or set zone reads. The zone read opition is the anti-christ for this D set and if ran properly as per Cam the Bama Anti-Christ you can break it down. They also bring quick pressure on any 5 step or 7 step drop passer. JJ is NO Cam Newton but he doesn't have to be with the talent he has around him vs what Cam had. I think this game will be a early complete War and Bama is that good. But I think the breaks of the game will fall on LSU and ST play will prove out early once again. LSU running the ball just enough to expose some over the top throws that JJ can make (Cotton Bowl) will be enough to put the :crystal: in the hands on Les Miles at the end of the game.
Our offensive line will be healthy and will be a key to our smashmouth style. I do think Les will go away from our "bread & butter" off tackle run plays because of Bama's huge DT's. They limit our guards from getting to their LB's because they take up so much space. This will be an on the field battle of wits with who can make the adjsutments "on the fly" to counter your opponent. It should be fun to watch. We should come out on top because I think we have more talent and depth. But turnovers and field position (special teams) always determine the outcome in close games.
just a little Bama posting - LOL - just to funny !!!! Re: No more posts by LSU fans are welcome today... It's hard to be nice after a hard fought battle that goes against your team. Especially the way it all went so wrong against Bama. There was absolutely no home cooking by the officials or the CBS media. The honey bagger thug mugging from behind being called holding with no ejection was completely ridiculos. The 'so called' interception sent me through the roof with anger. This game will go down in my mind as the worst loss I have ever witnessed as a Bama fan. In my humble opinion this game absolutely proves the best team does not always win. This is a very sad day for Tide fans and it will take at least a year or more to get the bad taste out of my mouth.
Thug mugging? What an idiot. He was turning him around to block him from the front, not TM7's fault Dre Kirkpatrick is a little pansy.
I'm no student of the game, just love to watch good football. One of you Xs and Os types tell me if we can successfully run this quadruple option out of one of our normal formations. Since we run the zone read and we run the option, this seems like a way to try to surprise Bama. ldskule:  [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh5KZ-z6AtM&feature=player_embedded]nebraska quadruple option.MP4 - YouTube[/ame]
I am no X and O's guy either but I've never seen the zone read option run quite like that before. I can't help but think that the coaching staff will have some wrinkles that we haven't used all season and something like this would certainly qualify. Nice post...
They can hope the ball bounces their way on the freak plays and get all the calls, but they still won't win.
