- they will need to run the ball and be able to control the line in the red zone - they will have to shut down the LSU rushing game - they will have to control the LSU opition with JJ - they will have to be able to cover LSU WR's with man coverage - they will have to play clean ball and not allow the LSU D to put points on the board - they will have to punt away from TM7 and not allow the LSU ST play to put points on the board - Bama will have to score TD's in the red zone and not depend on a weak kicking game good luck Bama Luck is all you got !
- they will need to run the ball and be able to control the line in the red zone I think Trent will get his yards just like last game. Keeping them out of the end zone is key. I can see them finishing drives off if they get inside the 20. They have learned the hard way they can't settle for 3's and I think it's probably the #1 coaching point that they have been hearing. However, I think LSU can keep them out of the redzone and force long FGs much like last time. - they will have to shut down the LSU rushing game Not going to happen - they will have to control the LSU opition with JJ Outside of a couple big plays I think they will do this. Especially since that is what they are planning for this time. - they will have to be able to cover LSU WR's with man coverage I think our passing game will be held in check. This is the best defense in college football second to ours. Their corners are no where close to ours but good enough to keep LSU from flinging it around. JJ's not a passer but he needs to burn them just enough to keep Bama honest. Our game will be ground and pound. - they will have to play clean ball and not allow the LSU D to put points on the board This is a tough one. Lil Nicky's teams are well disciplined and don't make many mistakes. Bama knows whats on the line and has experience in big games. On the other hand LSU D is amazing at making game changing plays and putting up points. I think that the balance of the game hangs on this point here. - they will have to punt away from TM7 and not allow the LSU ST play to put points on the board They are just morons if they kick to TM7 - Bama will have to score TD's in the red zone and not depend on a weak kicking game As I stated above, I think the bigger thing is LSU keeping them out of the red zone. But I agree that Bama needs to capitalize on every scoring opportunity as points will not come cheap for either offense.
I am worried about picking up the back field routes as we didn't do a good job with this last time. They got good yardage from this last time. Mis direction and missed assignments will also have to be covered by our LB's. They know this is the weak link in our D. They will have a healthy Maze and Lacey which concerns me. If bama uses these to guys right it could put pressure on our Defense.
Neither team will shut down the other's running game. The successful team will force the other to play out of rhythm and expend too much energy in the first half. The worst that could happen to LSU is a key offensive line injury that takes away our bread and butter inside plays. The worst that could happen to Bama is an injury to Richardson, putting the entire load on Lacy. A loss of Ware or Ford will be much easier for LSU to deal with because of the depth there. This game will be decided by the passing offense and a ball-control game. Whichever quarterback can move the ball downfield to get ahead and then grind out long drives with the running game to eat u the clock will win this game. Jefferson can do it, but if he has another game like the SECCG with 30 years passing, it will fall to Lee. In the best scenario, LSU passes aggressively in the first half to take a 2-score lead and then runs options and power running to keep Bama's offense off the field in the second half. LSU's special teams will give LSU short fields and Bama long fields to cross. Bama is nowhere close in the kicking game.
I may be cocky but I feel Bama's gonna need to flatten all the bus tires. And even then it's only 45 minutes away from B.R. so, maybe then they will have to cause a pile up on I-10.
And of course turnovers will be a key. LSU led this category last time and has many more take-aways on the year. The other key is big plays on offense which were few in the first game. LSU by 10.
If LSU plays the way they are capable of playing, Alabama goes down. Period. Even if Bama plays their best game all year. :LSU231:
yep that was a huge moment in the game ! The FACT we have a huge edge in ST play is something that Nick can not fix.
