We should win our last 3 games and go to a semi decent bowl. Not sure if I 'expect' to given the uncertainty at QB. I do think Les will fix the 'co' DC issue. No way he changes Crowton though. Get more experience (OR RS) behind center and we will be better next year.
Don't worry, he grumps at everybody. It's part of the new guy assessment. Wait 'til you meet tirk . . .
""Knowing the playbook and having experience helps a lot."" Then you need to simplify the offense for Jefferson. What's the use of having hundreds of passing plays if your QB can't exectute them? Why not have 20 to 30 plays that can be executed? Look at Texas Tech. Mike Leach says publicly that the key to his offense is that he simplifies the playbook, gets all receivers involved, and only runs plays that he knows they can execute. Run a few plays from each formation and execute those plays in practice until you can run them blindfolded. Aaron Pryor took over from a Senior QB who had just finished playing in the National Championship game a few months earlier. Anyone think Pryor knew Ohio St.'s whole playbook? Did experience matter? What's the use of experience, if progress is not made in those "experiences"? The least of what should be happening is that Jefferson run the plays that Hatch runs. If he can't run those plays, he has no business playing college football. What's the harm in that? The worse that could happen is that he fumbles, but I doubt he would fumble four times in a game.
But he looked good in the first half. Even if we win all three remaining and our bowl game, just don't see us cracking the top 10. Of course, hope that I'm wrong.
You know more than the LSU staff. Clearly. :insane: Pryor is an anomaly. You really want a true freshman who, by the way, has one incomplete pass and a handful of handoffs under his belt, to get the majority of the snaps against the #1 team in the country? Have the team drop a couple of more games (featuring JJ as THE guy) and watch how fast the wheels fall off the bandwaggon. The playbook HAS been simplified and neither quarterback can take advantage of it. That... might be an issue.
""The playbook HAS been simplified and neither quarterback can take advantage of it."" If the playbook HAS been simplified and Lee continues to be confused, what does that tell you about Lee? If Lee cannot "take advantage" of a simplified playbook, then just run the option. For that you would need an athletic QB. That would be Jefferson. I'm not saying give Jefferson the starting QB position, but at the very least, get him in for at least 50% of the snaps against Troy. Jefferson should have played half the time against Tulane, especially since Hatch was hurt. And before anyone says, "Well, if Jefferson plays, the other team will play 8 or 9 in the box" - What do you think teams do when Hatch gets in the game? Trust me, Jefferson is more athletic and can throw better than Hatch.
