Actually they don’t have the same equipment and it’s armed forces are significantly smaller yet they are fighting hard. Why are civilians flocking to get arms and line up to fight the Russians? The Russians will likely take some form of control but will face a resistance an armed resistance that will bleed them dry.

its too early to say if russia move is smart. i think they intend to push ukraine to negotiate and then officiallly take the two breakaway regions, not the whole country.
