I mean, I get the idea behind it, but I don't recall in my history lessons that Russia had this grand idea to conquer the whole of Europe. Russia's interest seem strategic enough to be centered around access to the Black and Baltic seas with regards to exports of their natural resources. This idea that Russia needs this gigantic opposing European force to counter "aggression" is miss guided as no Russian goals have ever been expressed to the extent that we require all this "defense spending". While I do not agree with their ideology, they seem to be a boogeyman that pops up when convenient. Like what are we fighting these days? Commies? Fuck, half the country is paid for by China. Its political opportunism.
