Any damage to their ability to produce food, or any takeover by Russian oligarchs, spells disaster for the entire world. Not to mention their vast fossil fuel reserves. Taiwan is MUCH MORE expendable on a global scale. Taiwan doesn't have any technologies we ourselves couldn't produce. Taiwan has no arable land to speak of. Taiwan has no oil and gas reserves.

Obama was not prepared for Russia's invasion of Crimea because his national security advisor, the traitor Michael Flynn, told him Putin had no such plan.
