I don't think Green has any shot to make the roster. The battle right now for the 5th and possible 6th spots are between Courtney Roby, Adrian Arrington, and Rod Harper. Arrington probably won't survive being waived, so there's no shot at putting him on the practice squad and therefore I think he makes the team. The last spots going to be between Harper and Roby. Roby proved valuable in kick returns last year, but Harper's looked good both as a receiver and as a return man in the preseason, so I think he has a shot at #6 if we keep 6.

Unfortunately for Skyler, I don't think there's anywhere to put him, and he hasn't impressed this preseason. He may end up back on the practice squad.

I would have to agree that's its become a very uphill battle for Green. Even if they keep 6 WR's, that 6th spot is likely going to be kept based solely on special teams work, and so far, Green's done nothing to set him apart from Roby or Harper this year.

Arrington has no shot at being cut. They have plans for him. He will likely be a decent part of this offense this year.

    Colston
    Moore
    Henderson
    Meachem
    Arrington
    Harper

This is the six that make it IMO. When you know you are gonna pass for close to 5000 yards that 5th guy can still be very involved, and Harper makes it on special teams ability and the fact that all indications are that he has had an excellent camp.

thanks for clearing that up for me man, that bothered me for awhile because Skyler is a Tiger and played for Miles also, even though Miles didn't use him properly.

A new article at NOLA.com talks about Meachem's potential as a kick returner, possibly eliminating the need for a Roby or Green, who's sole contribution would be as a return specialist.

If Moore beats out Henderson for a starting job, I think they should give Devery a look back there as well.

why? so, he can drop punts as well as he drops passes? gotta have someone sure handed to field those punts. and, sure-handed is not how i would descibe devery.

Kicks, not punts. Henderson returned kicks at LSU, and had no catch issues (with kickoffs) that I can recall. Between Bush, Moore, Porter, and possibly Green or Harper, we're set for a punt returner.

you know i am glad you said that, because i have been trying to remember the other ways we pretty much gave florida that win in the swamp in 06, which ultimately led to their national championship, and other than the hester elbow, the jamarcus fumble, the bad calls, there was a kick off muff in that game too, was it doucet? I can't remember. nothing to do with this thread, so sorry.

To open the 2nd half, I think. Can't remember who it was though.
