Let me start by saying that I definitely want a win Saturday night against the gators. But the truth is that I believe whoever loses Saturday night will make it back to the NC game if they win out. That being said whoever wins Saturday night will have to win out to make it the NC game. We can't afford a loss from a western division opponent. If things go as planned the game for all of the marbles will be in Tuscaloosa against Alabama.
A loss means, we lost to the best team in the country at this point in the season. We take what we can from it, use it as a lesson, the team works its ass off to get to Atlanta to serve up some sweet revenge.
They already pronounced it on the Bama board. A third or more of them think LSU will upset Florida . . . because Les is "lucky". If LSU beats Florida with Tebow out, they will say Les was lucky that Tebow was out. If LSU beats Florida with Tebow playing, they will say Les was lucky that Tebow was playing hurt, heroically . If we win we are "lucky". If we lose we are "exposed" as a bad football team. That's how it will play out in the media.
Sad, but oh so true. I just hope we don't hurt Tebow (if he plays) so we don't have to listen to the grief for that. It would be like the little white cap on a piece of chicken droppings. Maybe I'll take a couple of weeks off from the media after this game. We may win on the scoreboard, but media's perception won't change. :geaux:
Their is one "unless" though: If LSU wins handily by 2 touchdowns and mostly because we dominated both lines of scrimmage, the media won't be able to ignore the margin of victory. A close win and Red's assessment is correct.
Heard from my Georgia friend this morning -- the celebration penalty cost GA the game -- more of Les's luck.
I stay away from the board for a couple of days. The threads will be entirely too depressing to keep reading.
