This is a good post. I have to agree 100% All 4 of those games were winnable, whether people believe it or not.
Yup; of course if the team had just played a bit better, that might not have been an issue. Bad ref calls as we know too well do happen; just that the football gods were not smiling at the Tigers.:dis:
Whew, I thought we are going to offer Crowton and/or Miles again! How about a chicken, or bucket of Colonel Sanders?:hihi:
i think it all comes down to the way kids are playing football these days. it's all about "ME, ME, ME!!!" you have defenders flying at people's knees/legs to make a "statement hit" rather than a clean and fundamental tackle. the SEC is an aggressive league, no doubt, but you have some shady hits going on out there. i'm not trying to take up for the zebras, but some of that stuff is probably extremely hard to call. they need a better viewing system for the officials, for sure, but a lot of it is the way kids are either coached or how they play the game. and the aggressive style of play is apparent on just about every team out there, not just the SEC.
And there is no guarantee that the Bozo officiating crew would have slapped Penn State with a delay of game penalty, unfortunately.
This reminds me of the Nebraska player who intentionally kicked the ball in the end zone allowing another Nebraska player to catch it for a TD. I believe it was against Missouri and allowed them to win the NC. The player bragged about using his brains until he was informed it was illegal. He quickly changed his story and said it was an accident. I'm sure after this "genius" is informed his actions should've resulted in a delay of game penalty, he'll probably change his tune also. I personally think it's a crappy call by the ref. Go back and watch the LSU/Oklahoma BCS game. The ref went out of his way to reset the ball when LSU was taking a knee. These refs were completely opposite of that crew. There is NO consistency in CFB officiating and the NCAA WON'T make any changes because they like the $$$ they're making. LSU should have taken care of business and not allowed a call to factor into the outcome. Even so...that should not excuse the fact that these officials were horrible. I can't believe in CFB 2010 officials don't know the rules, can't remember the down, have to huddle to decide proper calls, and can't spot the ball in the correct location. :nope:
