I love this game each year. Of course, I have had good times and bad. But enjoyed them all. Some took a couple hours of "down time" to regain my composure, but....In the last few years, I have had a lot of fun posting here and feel like I kind of made friends with a lot of the posters here. I know that I would feel honored to have many of you as a guest at my home. I can just imagine some of the good food we could put together. To those posters, I want to thank you for the conversations we have had. Although we have never met, I feel like I know something about you and mostly I like what I see. For today's game, of course, I'll be pulling for my Rebs, just as you will be pulling for your Tigers. I hope to see one "fine" game with no injuries. I really hope your qb can make it through the game without further problems with his ankle. I know the Rebs are going to try to put a lot of pressure on him at the start of the game, just to flush him out of the pocket and see how mobile he can be. A few points you may want to watch for..... #57---Powe.....he is the guy who fought so hard to get into OM. He has lost weight down to about 325. His mobility has increased lots. OM changes defensive lineman often because they have enough dl to allow the rest periods and fresh players. His stats are impressive. A leader in the sec with tackels behing the line. And he really only plays about half of the defensive downs. #92---Marcus Tillman........a one time verbal commitment to LSU. Solid and dependable. Opened the game two weeks ago with an int. and took it to like the one yd line. His dad has a framed picture, that he showed me, of MT laying out J. Russell. I talk to either his Mom or Dad each week. A good Christian young man who just happens to be very intelligent. Won the Chucky Mullins award for the player that shows the most dedication and spirit. He gets to wear a special patch with the #38....an honor at OM.. Anyway, let's have another great LSU/OM game......... GEAUX TIGERS AND GO REBS.........:thumb:
With the exception of McCluster of course. Should be a good game. I'm excited because I don't know what to expect. And it is not about LSU, the Tigers are always ready for big games, but Ole Miss has been really inconsistent, with a really low against USCw and a high against UT. I hope that the Ole Piss of last week shows up so that this will end up being an exciting game. Actually, it should be an exciting game, all of LSU's games are exciting.
I'm excited anytime LSU plays a game. I can't say I get more excited for Ole Miss or Tulane than any other game. I'm not a young guy and know the history of the schools but have never (in my lifetime) considered these to be any special rivalry. Hopefully it will be a good game. The winner should be in good shape for a bowl game. Ole Miss can't afford a fourth loss and expect to get a good bowl. I just wish I could see LSU's offense do something before the season ends. That has been the biggest disappointment for me this year and has made the season less exciting than I had expected. After being in Atlanta and watching JJ torch Georgia Tech, I expected big things from this offense. We have the talent to contend next year but need to use these last three games to set the stage for next year. If this offense can't improve we probably will see a repeat of this year...and that just won't cut it for these fans! :thumb:
Great Post and good luck to you guys as well. Obviously I hope we kick some ole miss arse but like you said lets hope for no injuries. I think other posters from rival schools (perhaps like alot of the bamers we had after the bama game) can take note. Classy post and even though it is a rivalry it still is only a game. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!:tigerhead
It should be a great game, as long as injuries, penalties, and no-calls are kept to a minimum. You may like to know that our paper's sports writer has got it 24-14- Ole Miss. I stopped reading him for serious commentary a while back...:tigereye:
I think I'm a little excited and anxious about this game; biggest reason is the unknown factor. I know this is a big game for both teams, as Shepard Smith of Fox News has ended his program everyday this week with "beat LSU".
