You can't win em all. Hmm...... We've won 2 Nat'l Championships in a very short time. We gotta rebuild. This team is playing their best tonite. We have TOO MUCH inexperience in too many places. It's time to get back to basics and build another team. I LOVE LSU, but we ARE NOT a contender this year. And I'm NOT PISSED, I'm not ashamed. We have been the MAN for quite a while. It's time to start the process again, we'll be back. ...................and I certainly hope we have some QB prospects in the pipeline. I'm sure some of ya feel me.
The game isn't even over yet. LSU has only lost one game...yes they lost badly, but you have to see how a team responds to adversity before judging them. Remember, South Carolina kept it VERY close against Jawja. It ain't over til it's over. Don't put the cart in front of the tiger.
Ye of little faith. I saw some good signs tonight. 1)Our defense shut down SC in the second half...shut.them.down. We forced turnovers, blitzed, and blitzed efectively. 2)We threw the ball downfield. On the particular play I'm talking about, we threw a bomb to Byrd...a PERFECTLY thrown ball...and he dropped it. That won't happen often. But it proved that we can stretch the field. 3)The two QB system worked flawlessly in the second half. 4)The lines took over and both dominated. 5)We have more than one RB who can help salt the game away late. 6)Our defensive coaches made adjustments at halftime...and they worked. 7)We are 5-1, coming home for a HUGE game against UGA. I don't know what is meant by "we need to build another team". We have young players, and they need time to develop. There is NOTHING that develops players faster than letting them play football...on the road...against SEC teams. They will lose some...(last week)...and win some...(the rest of 'em). This IS the rebuilding year, and we are doing a good job of rebuilding as the year goes on.
Well said! We have a lot to work on, but in the 2nd half, OUR D WAS SCARY!!! That's all I ask for. Make THEM beat us!
I hope you all know, I DO...........BLEEEEEEd the purple and gold. Our QB situation is something that we have to deal with among a few other things. I LOVE our team. We'll dominate eventually. We have a superior coach, and a superior staff. We just can't do it every year. We did an amazing job tonite, considering. SC is a mediocre team that we would have KILLED last year. I'm just saying...........We are not a contender for the crystal this year.
I felt better about the defense the way they were able to play the second quarter. I hope Jai won't ever leave that WR; it almost cost us the game. Coleman was fast and aggressive. Taylor made a nice critical interception late in the 4th QTR. All good signs. The offense I hope will continue to settle in with Lee and Hatch. Looked like Hatch was quite effective and seemed to be the stabilizer force. I don't think the offense played terrible although those two big drops by Lafell early in the game, and then by Byrd would have made big differences in the complexion of the game. I have to give SC their defense credit: they were tough to move the ball against and are very good and disciplined.:thumb: Towards, the end, I think they got worn down.
