vanity is pointing those things out. need i remind you, prohibited by your maker. a freaking deadly sin.

you cant just ignore this and point out your awesomeness because you are great. only the meek shall inherit the earth. meek means shutting the hell up about your greatness.

so only ugly americans are allowed to be obnoxious? dirk should be rewarded for his lack of vanity. the message being sent to dirk and lebron is conflicting to me.

you dont want to cross the line. the consequences are eternal damnation for telling someone you're awesome. maybe even thinking it. best to err on the side of caution.

    all of them.

I think God would have approved of the guy (I think it was Calvin Hill, advising his son Grant on not showboating) who said,"When you get in the end zone, act like you've been there before."

Lebron making a steal and throwing down a thunderous dunk....using his abilities.
Lebron flexing his muscles and thumping his chest after the dunk.....vanity.

acting like you have been there before is another way to be vain, as if this accomplishment was so easy for you that you are not even excited. its ubervain

I don't see doing an endzone dance as true vanity. True vanity is believing that you are so much better than everyone around you to an extent that you see yourself as a god compared to those mere mortals. The kind of vanity in that you see others as so far below you that they aren't worth breathing the same air as you , where you are incapable of showing any compassion at all to someone you see as inferior to you and you place yourself in the place of God. A celebration after a slam dunk isn't quite the same in my opinion.

there's no clear rules on the deadly sin vanity so you cant just go assuming whats acceptable and what isnt.

so dont go around grabbing your nuts every time you meet a deadline at work or pick up your kids from practice on time no matter how tempting it is.

you cant risk this ****. the alternative is too costly.

    sadly,

    chest thumping heat -1

    humble dirk - 0

if the meek shall inherit the earth it looks like it will be post-armageddon when property values have been affected. no one ever mentioned that little detail.

So Deion high-stepped into the end zone because he was surprised? Over and over again? :D
