I was a walk-on for the Fred's drinking team...it didn't work out, especially for Friday morning classes...
Not me. I did have two second cousins that Charlie Mac signed that never did play for the Tigers. One signed in 1969, his name is Mike Gray, and he was a DE from Chatawa, MS. His younger sister is Rannah Gray, who was the associate AD under Joe Dean. The other, John Gandy, was a center from Cockeysville, MD who signed in 1972. I most certainly was a walk on at LSU. I walked on the Quad. I walked on the Parade Grounds. I walked on the Indian Mounds . . . Couldn't resist.
I think some know that my son walked on at TCU, made the travel team as RS frosh, played in 3rd game and everyone after that, lettered 4times, 4 bowls, 2 Conf Championships, AAC 3 times, and actually played his senior season while in the MBA program. Not too bad for a very average HS athlete, at least I think so........:geauxtige
My daughter was a golden girl. Funny thing is, I never really understood why they called her that since she went to La College but we were proud all the same.
My oldest almost did as a punter. He was a redshirt walkon at NSU in 2005, came home to LSU in 2006. Worked out with LSU in spring 2007, and punted for the Purple team in the spring game. :helmet: Continued working with the team all summer, but was let go late August. They did keep a tiny kid as a punter, but his dad sold cars to Les. Disappointing but he had a great experience, not to mention a super proud dad. My kid warming up in Tiger Stadium!
