Frustrating because we could have beaten Florida, but didn't find our offense until after that game. And all it took was the coaches taking the reigns off of Jefferson. It's also frustrating because we very well could have beaten bama, too. But I've literally never seen so much go against a single team in any one game in my life. Starting QB, RB, all-world corner, and starting OL (Black) all get hurt, yet it still took tuscalooser's finest to eliminate any chance of us winning. It's not frustrating that we've lost 2 games, it's that we lost 2 games that were both very, very winnable. It isn't like we got blown out in either.
I was thinking this last night but if Scott has a broken collar bone - that might make the Arkansas game tough. IMO, I think Arkanasas > Ole Miss.
i don't know if it was packing it in, miles' teams usually fight till the bitter end. it was more lack of halftime adjustments esp on defense and once jefferson and scott were gone our O was pretty punchless.
I think everyone pretty much knew we were good, not elite. The same could be said even had we found a way to win. As mentioned, 10 wins would be a very successful year, especially if the only 2 losses were to No.1 and No. 2/3, but 2 out of the last 3 games aren't a given considering the possible injuries and any hangover effect this game may have.
A good post, but don't underestimate how badly the Tigers got beat up, both physically and emotionally, by Bama. In the Tigers' state, LaTech won't be a gimme . Neither will Ole Miss or Arky.:tigerhead
thats what i have been trying to say. there have been problems all year with cramps and dehydration but in no way do i blame moffit. he is one of the best in the business. however, i do see something there that needs to be addressed, likely with the trainers. also, i had no idea when i was bitching about it last night peterson had been down with some sort of bug, be it cold or flu.
My sentiments exactly. Yeah, people will cry over spilt milk, but I am proud of our Tigers effort yesterday. Like you say "they played football".
