Please don't trash talk Jefferson and act like he hasn't improved from last year. I have never liked Jefferson as a qb but I would be ignorant to say that his decision making and his arm hasn't dramatically improved from last year. 15/21 for 150 yards, 2 tds and 1 unlucky int. Yea he's not going to win the heisman but he very well could put some points up for lsu this year.

However, LSU coaching is the real joke here. Ridley had two fumbles, shepard dropped a few, and some of the players just didn't perform tonight; but the real problem is when Yates throws for 410 yards against LSU D and Chavis doesn't change coverage or even go to man in order to stop the short throw. I can't handle another season like this. News Flash Les Miles: you're a moron and you have a blind defensive coordinator

Jordan Jefferson's performance was disturbing. He showed no poise. He was looking for the homerun or the scramble all night. We didn't sustain a drive all night to give our defense a break and their defense less gas to defend us later in the game. I don't see that Jefferson gets it or has the ability to get it. QB is a major concern.

And then there is Miles. This team has his signature all over it. Sloppy play to pick up where we left off last year. No sense of urgency, no attention to detail, no display of mastery or dominance or ingenuity. I blame Miles much more than Jefferson and anyone else associated with this football team.

UNC was depleted and put a more complete game together. Other powers struggled in their first games, but so what? This is a common tune for us now, for our fans to make excuses for our draggin ass team. This is not championship caliber football, this does not show a new mindset where we want to be the best. And that is Miles' fault.

No, I don't know chit about their missing starters. I'm saying they played a whole lot better than a whole lot of teams I saw while my rear end was planted on the couch from morning until night.

We had some pretty glaring weaknesses (most of which we already knew about) laid open yet again.

The challenge and question is: what will we do with the information staring at us?

Will we improve? Most of us fear we won't...again.

UNC was a solid mid-major with the players they were missing, especially on defense. Our defense couldn't stop them, our offense wheezed and sputtered.

And really, remember how great we thought Washington was last year. It turned out that we made them look good. So stop it with the, "UNC was better than most of the top 25 without half their team." I give Butch Davis a lot of credit, but damn we made them look good.

I don't think we can really tell what we just played. So much difference it what they had, and what they could have had.

If I had to guess though talent and experience wise, I would say that was probably similar to playing Miami OH or Memphis.

    Who really knows though.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I think playing a team's 2nd stringers isn't exactly like playing their first. Actually, I think it's nothing like playing their previous starting first stringer, future NFL draftees. Thank God we didn't play them with a full crew.

I'm not sure who UNC was missing on offense, but minus 1 Dlineman and their 3 LBs, they were missing their entire starting Defense. Like someone else said, thank god for NCAA sanctions.
Also, while PP is good on returns, I think whoever decided to use the best corner cover in football on both defense and special teams... is a moron. He was gassed halfway through the 3rd qtr.
