No idea who I would have hired, but you can bet that if I was AD, I would have scoured the nation for the top prospects and sought guidance from the best football minds in the country to identify the top prospects. Hard for me to imagine Fisher or Herman would have made the top 3. Among other things Alleva is tone deaf. You don't fire the winningest coach in LSU history, during the season no less, and fail to make a splashy hire. Next, if Fisher and Herman are your top two candidates, you don't get played by them. Fisher demanding 8 million and a 55 million buyout? F*ck off Fisher. And Alleva doesn't find this out until the last week of the year long search??? Herman playing us for Texas not obvious all along? Any AD worth a fuck with a year to land one of those guys, lands one of those guys. I would have had both fighting over it with the kind of money alleva had to play with.
