Nothing wrong? You're out in left field on that one. You do know that you are fired from your job on the spot for flunking multiple drug tests. I've heard all the arguments that everyone has smoked pot in college or gotten drunk. That may be true for most people, but once you are warned by flunking a drug test you should see the light. And he did do soemthing wrong or he would not have been thrown off the team. He has to stay on the "straight and narrow" road to have any chance to be back on the team. Les has to figure out if that would be a good thing for the team.
-- A remorseful Tyrann Mathieu, fully aware of his responsibility for his dismissal -- Re-enrolls at LSU and dedicates himself to his education & maintaining his athleticism -- Reinstated in his senior year by CLM; TM7 now a model player & mentor to others -- Plays an outstanding & award-winning senior year for the Tigers'--capping it with a BCSNCG Title -- Screenplay for a "Rudy" type movie about pride/failure/redemption/triumph (is Jerry Goldsmith available for the music score?). What's not to love?
Getting kicked of the team doesn't mean he did something "wrong". Smoking weed is a perfectly normal acceptable thing to do. Michael phelps is maybe the most successful athlete of all time and he smokes. The rules are antiquated and arbitrary. The rules are the problem.
Les has already told him he can come back next year. If he hadn't, tyrann would have already moved on.
Like Mobius said there is no way tm would stay unless he spoke to one of the higher ups and was assured if he cleaned his act up he would get another shot to play.
The rules of the team and school were laid out for him when he signed the scholarship. He was warned of the testing and he still flunked. Where do you get the notion that he did not do anything wrong? At the very least he did a very stupid act.
He didn't go to McNeese because that's a huge difference in playing there one season and going into the draft as a "trouble" person and the possibility of playing at LSU again on the national stage with a repaired image. Don't get it twisted, his decision was him doing what was best for him. I wish him well, but I don't want him back on the team.
So let me get this straight. Some of ya'll welcomed JJ back with open arms but not Mathieu. Let me remind you JJ is all about JJ and "doing what was best for him." Mathieu was never convicted of a felony and then reduced to a misdemeanor. Give me a break.
