I sure as hell hope your group consists of 250 people. I was at the Vandy game with a two year old in the pouring rain. And I don't even consider myself a Die Hard. Tickets are easily going for $500 - $1000 a piece. People will buy your friends.
My point was that if the parade grounds flood again, you will see some people tuck tail & run early. Sure they won't be the die-hards, but bandwagoners make up a part of the gameday experience as much as loyal 20 year tailgaters. As for GameDay, even if tornadoes were touching down across campus, golf ball sized hail was falling from the sky, and an earthquake tore down Highland, you would still see massive crowds out there to try & get their faces on TV.
That is my point for all the wusses at the game, there will be those who want to act like idiots for gameday to replace them. They see wusses run and they call there friends because tickets are easier to come by. I know some who always pack up their tailgate in the parade grounds when it rains and then run over to our covered area to finish tailgating.
Call it what you will, but it is a fact. I will still be flying to New Orleans on Friday from Atlanta, be out on campus at 7AM on Saturday, & sitting in my seats at kickoff, despite the weather...but there are people that are not willing to do all that if it means getting soaked to the bone. Especially when they can watch the game on TV.
I agree for a normal game. For this one most are leaving the children at home and the older fans probably don't want to deal with the crowd. They can use that extra $500 at the casino anyway.
Let it rain! :thumb: (Seriously, invest in a poncho people. ! )
The front that is coming is producing flash floods in Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. It may peter out . . . or it may produce an awful lot of rain.
