I got to work about 5:15 this am. (thurs) Just sat back in the truck relaxing and listening to the news on radio. Something caught my attention. Some of the football games scheduled for Friday night are being moved up and will be played tonight due to some bad weather supposedly coming in tomorrow. It is supposed to last throughout the weekend. (I'm about an hour out of BR) How would this help/hurt the Tigers? Sure wouldn't help tailgating...KATT?
Tailgating will not be affected for this one... All of LSU games but the UGA game were played on a wet field this year. I expected a defensive battle and the rain will push it even further that way.
Remember when we played Fresno State a couple years back? The parade grounds flooded to the point that you could not walk around without being in ankle deep water. If it rains all day long, it will have a significant impact on tailgating.
Big differences... That kind of rain is not expected and this is the UF game, not Fresno. There will be close to 100,000 outside the stadium regardless. Only the bandwagons will go home and they don't usually setup tailgates, they drift. If it is pouring when ESPN GameDay is airing you will see the same amount of people in the background.
In my group alone, 4 people have said that they are not coming out to tailgate & are debating if they are even going to the game. I consider our group to be pretty die hard, so that is huge. If it was a beautiful day, campus would have seen close to 150,000+ people. With a 70% chance of thunderstorms all day, it will probably see less than 100,000 & you will (unfortunately) see some empty seats in the stadium.
That is not the definition of die-hard. I have yet to hear from anyone that they will be changing plans if it rains. Rain is expected and most know that.
wusses! on that note, i need to go pack another pair of jeans so i can change for the game after tailgating all night and all day if needed!
