This is a better idea but they still don't play a tough schedule in these other conferences. Once again we need a 8 team playoff...4 teams at the least.
By that argument, the Sugar Bowl shouldn't always be in New Orleans because LSU has an advantage every time they play in it.
It does seem kind of "unfair" only if Georgia plays in the SECCG. How does the ticket allotment work for this? How many tickets will LSU get? Does each school get half? If we get half, then it is much more fair. Our half can out yell and out cuss their half (whoever the opposition is). Mark A.
But LSU isn't an automatic lock for the Sugar Bowl every year, just like USC or Michigan aren't automatic locks for the Rose Bowl. Their participation also depends on the NC picture. And the NC rotates among 4 different venues. But if UGA wins the East, they are guaranteed to go to Atlanta every year. If Tennessee loses this week, this will be the 3rd time (I think) that they'll be playing in front of a virtually home crowd for all the marbles. I understand the logistics rationale for holding the SECCG there, but I do think it needs to be rotated among different cities.
I agree with that unless the two did happen to play during the season like LSU-UGA in 2003. Luckily LSU won and the rest is history, but if LSU had lost it would have cost us a shot at even being in a BCS bowl. If the west and east champion happen to play during the season, they shouldn't have to play again.
I disagree. To be the best, you got to beat the best. If that means doing it twice in one year, so be it. Just like '01, Tenn beat us after 9/11, but when it counted the most, with a Sugar for us Rose for them, they couldn't do it.
