So we're in Destin for a four day vacation for the fourth of July. We decide to rent a pontoon and spend the day at Crab Island. When we pull up to Crab Island, we notice a number of boats flying LSU flags. We make our way around the boats yelling go tigers to everyone with an LSU flag. Long story short, we drive past the biggest boat of them all and the highest flying LSU flag and yell go tigers to the people in the back of the boat and get a go tigers and a few fist pumps right back at us. As we drive past, I notice that the guy, with the white "hat", looks an awful lot like Les. We ease up and I yell "Les can we get a pic". Les replies, "Sure, how do you wanna do this?" So we pull our crappy pontoon boat up to the back of his boat million dollar boat, he jumps in and we get the pic of our lives. Anyway, he's the nicest guy. He was gracious enough to give us a moment of his family time to pose for a few pics that made our day. [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG]
Cool pics. He, Emeril, and Chris Scelfo spend a lot of time on their boats in the northern gulf. Its hard to find a sandbar without a Louisiana/LSU party going on.
great story and pics! its great that he enjoys south louisiana life, and the proximity to the gulf and to the beaches. lets hope he also remembers how cold michigan winters can be while he's out there! :hihi:
Hope you dont mind a Gator Fan jumping in on your thread but it was a while back on a gator board we were talking about other teams coaches that we had met. A coulple of them had met Les Miles and said he was one of the nicest people they had met. Said even though they had their Gator shirts on he sat and talked for a long time he did rag on them a bit, though but they said it was just good natured picking.
LSU was by far the most represented school/team out there. There were others like Auburn, a few Bama, a few Tenn, a few UGA, even MSU, and of course UF, but LSU was everywhere. Everywhere I turned, I found my self saying GO TIGERS and getting one right back. Great weekend.
