2005, Mike Shula and OL coach Bob Connelly. ( @uscvball I'm well aware of where he is now ... not trying to step on your toes here.) Since '03 I'd bitched about Con. Bad coach, with evidence to prove it. Shula, with his undying loyalty (along with a bit of a security issue with wanting "yes men" around him. Familiar?) Going on two and a half years I'm pointing to Con and warning...he ain't all that. He's worse. You remember LSU coming into Bryant Denny with Bama sitting at 9-0? I do, and also recall saying here, "the offensive line isn't about schit. Neither is the coach." I remember a lot here calling for a 21+ point win that day. I knew that wasn't the case, but knew the offense wouldn't move. A loss there, and then a loss to Auburn, and reality began to sink in for some folks. There isn't a lot you can compare when looking at Shula and Orgeron. There are some similar steps both are making and they're not uncommon in coaching. Rarely successful as well.
