I will make my answer real simple. E set LSU records in 2016 when he knew who his starting QB was, who his starting RB's were (who were much better than he had last year BTW), who his starting WR's were and had a better, deeper and healthier OL. Also he accomplished these records despite being thrown into the OC job with no spring or fall practice as the OC that year. He had absolutely none of those advantages in 2018, are you going to agrue he had any of that? Tell me where I am wrong? You might try opening your mind too amigo.
With that comes vivid recollection. And with that recollection comes the caveat that is 2016. Coincidently, another thing I mentioned when you were discussing this a year ago. The caveat? LSU is setting all of these offensive records against whom? 65% of that record setting production (SO) came against teams that were 7-6 or worse (including one, 1A team.) Now, that's not including the A&M game (8-5) where the Tigers put up 54 points. Of course that comes with its own caveat. That A&M defense gave up 319 points that season. The record breaking offense of LSU put up 340 points. I'm not telling you that you're wrong about 2016. I am telling you that 2016 comes with a host of caveats before we begin to assign asterisk. As a bit of an ironic sidenote, have you noticed when it comes to '16 you seldom see the losses mentioned? 10 points scored. Florida was a nine win team that year, weren't they? I know it was Mac's second year.
