You are correct. That did happen....last week. Move on. LSU fans have.

No, not correct. The offense couldn't move the ball to get the defense a break. Therefore not all on defense ...

Okay, now take that sarcasm, and try to look at this from the standpoint of someone who is objective and not always shoved up the arse of the LSU football program. No one is jumping off any bandwagons. That's just a stupid talking point used by a snotty person who thinks they're more of a fan than someone else.

LSU is a good team with a lot of kinks. Don't crown them yet. We played a great second half defensively against a sorry offense. Last week, we played horrible in both quarters against a really good offense and LSU put up no competition. Common sense would only tell you that the LSU D should have played well in the second half considering who they were playing this week.

So instead of being sarcastic and claiming people are jumping off of bandwagons, take a breather.

We can't keep starting out so slow and letting teams jump on us so early. It happened with a good offensive team with Florida and we couldn't come back. We did, however, come back on a sorry Auburn team and against a sorry South Carolina offense. Keep that in mind and your feet on the ground.

How dare I (and others)...as an LSU fan...come onto an LSU forum to try and keep things in perspective, while being concerned about our defense. I picked LSU to win 24-21, thinking they'd get behind and have to come back like they have before. It happened... again. Sheesh.

It was a 14 point win if Spurrier had been our coach...or Meyer...or Petey...or any of these other a-holes that concern themselves with sticking it in the end zone one more time just to make it look better.

Let's see, a QB that we have no film on, and we shut him down after halftime adjustments. You're right...I should keep things in perspective and try to find the bad in that.

FWIW, I for one haven't "crowned" anyone yet. I...as did most LSU fans...expected 2-3 losses this year. If you didn't see reason to be excited about the defense in this game, then you, sir, are blind.

I agree that we need to bring it in the first half. However, other than the BCSNCG, this is the first time I've seen the defense bring it for an entire half since VT last year...and I'm pretty damn pumped about it. I believe it was a HUGE step...and we WILL bring it in the first half next week...riding the momentum of this second half.

I'm damn proud to be "shoved up the arse of the LSU football program" by the way.

CP, your view isn't wrong, LSU has played some bad football this year. However, I saw some improvements in the second half tonight that makes me think we may be on to something. The defense began to bring pressure much more effectively and to even time blitzes pretty good. Am I a sunshine pumper? No, there was still some piss poor tackling and a very ineffective first half. Still I think something is begining to click with the team and I think we will see more of this style of play.

I agree 100%, and I hope you're right about "bringing it" in the first half against UGA.

I think so too, but I think we have to take into consideration who we played tonight. If we stomp UGA on defense next week (I think we'll continue to struggle on offense, unless we keep running), I'll be almost sold, but LSU has yet to play a complete game, especially against an especially good team.

This game was big in showing some of the resiliency of the team, but they HAVE to play a complete game in the next couple of games. Not perfect and error-free, but complete.

I think the ultimate goal is to see a team that becomes stronger as the year goes on. I want to see us improve. I was disappointed in the first half last night, but then our team showed that LSU attitude (especially on D) in the 2nd half.

Pressuring Stafford and neutralizing Moreno are the big keys. Also, we need a couple of DBs that will wear Massaquoi and that freshman WR like cheap suits. If they move anywhere on the field, those guys better be on them.

You're right, Stacey. That high pressure blitz package the Tigers used last night only works IF the receivers are covered. They don't have to be covered very long - just VERY WELL at the snap and for about 5 seconds after the snap. A little bump and run, maybe? Just anything to keep them covered while the rush does its damage....
