We need to bring these instant replay officials to the rest of our games

First of all, I would like to congratulate the Tigers on a great game against Alabama.

It seemed like the instant replay officials finally ruled in favor of LSU and it was the correct call. Before tonight, every time a play was reviewed by the officials I just knew LSU was going to get screwed by the decision. I hope there IR officials are assigned to the rest of our games.

I was shocked on a couple of them to be overturned. That last one where the Bama receiver caught that long pass could not clearly be shown to NOT catch the ball. I thought we were fortunate for that to be overturned.

I agree that one could have gone either way but the others were obvious. You said you were shocked about a couple of them, which other one surprised you?

I dunno, I am so foggy right now.

Seems like there was another one that was questionable and maybe should not been overturned.

You say it could have gone either way, which supports my case that the call should NOT have been overturned. If it isn't clear as can be, then you leave the original call as is. That is the whole point of instant replay.

I am just glad they misused it in that case.

I didn't think he dropped the ball, either, but I was happy to take something from the refs at that point after all of the myriad penalties.

The replay officials made all the right calls. There were a few of them that could have gone either way, but I felt they did a very good job of being un-biased - completely to my suprise.

The officiating overall was much better than I expected. There were a few penalties called on LSU that could have been called on Bama and that I consider "ticky tacky", but there was no obvious bias.

I am very confused as to why people question the correct reversal (in my opinion) of the long catch. One angle, the last one they showed on TV, if my memory is correct, (the view from the end zone) showed the point of the ball clearly hitting the turf. When I saw that angle, I thought it was a no brainer, and they called it like I saw it.

I agree 100%. The reversal was correct. His hands were around the top of the football and he kinda double clutched it. The point of the ball clearly hit the turf and pushed into him as he fell. It looked like a great catch on the field, but the replay was clear. Incomplete.

I agreed with every reversal. Remember Tolliver's (?) completion was correctly reversed too.

As someone said earlier, one of the greatest things about instant replay is it can neutralize the home field advantage calls that are being made on the field.
