i found this interesting: Colt McCoy as a sophmore (last year) was 65% with 22 TDs and 18 INTs for a total of 3303 yds right now lee is at 57% with 11 TDs and 9 INTs for a total of 1328 yds Source for Lee Stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=232417
Doesn't matter who you compare his stats to, it still doesn't change the fact that his play has to improve for us to beat quality teams.
On the Co-D's I agree 100%. However Crowton has had to dumb down his offense greatly for a QB that can't seem to handle the basics without tripping over his own feet. If you think we can just line up and run Scott on every play and beat teams like Florida, Georgia or Bama you are greatly mistaken. Crowtons offense requires a QB with a brain. Right now we have a QB that has a ton of learning to do and fast.
What part of 500 yards (nearly 300 through the air) and 38 points do you Crowton haters not understand? Should ANY offense be expected to do better against a defense like Georgia's? If we had MISSISSIPPI STATE'S defense, we're a one-loss team or better on the STRENGTH of our offense. And I can't blame the Defensive Coordinator...BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE ONE!! I like Miles, but he goofed when he didn't hire a coordinator. He knows it, too. In the advocate this morning he was quoted as saying he might get more involved in the defense despite the fact that he's never done it before. That's how bad the state of affairs is for LSU defensively. No, no...Crowton is FAR from an issue. He's a primary asset.
The biggest key for Bama in this game will be to keep it close until the initial emotion of the game wears off. LSU will come out throwing "hay makers" and will be so jacked up that we'll need to find a way to survive that initial wave of emotion. I think if we can do that I like our chances. We have a pretty good OL and an excellent rotation of backs that seems to wear on people as the game goes on. Hopefully we can keep the game close so we utilize our running game.
Those numbers SHOULD produce W's. Can't argue that. And I agree that Crowton is a definite asset. We're lucky to have him. We are accustomed to seeing LSU play great defense. That, to me, is the biggest surprise and disappointment this year. :geaux:
