That goes without saying. Impressionable young recruits need as few reasons as possible to consider other schools. Winning out, along with an impressive bowl win, would set the platform for the class of '09 to come in and help LSU take it to the next level.
Let's not throw Les under the bus. Look where Texas was with Mack Brown last couple of years. Colt McCoy was not good as a freshman. Now look at him. What we have here are growing pains. However, the two co-ordinator thing DOES suck.

Yeah I'm not calling for Miles to be fired or anything like that. I just think that if Bama comes in on a Saturday night in Death Valley and beats us like Florida and Georgia it will be tough for us in recruiting and we will definitely lose respect after getting beat down by 3 of the SEC's powerhouses. If the two losses to Florida/Georgia were in close or overtime games, it would be different. But the fashion that we lost them in, we must keep our respect and let recruits know we are here to stay by beating everyone's SEC favorite Alabama.
