We don't get a tiger from the wild. We provide the best home and helth care to any animal alive. They are solo in the wild We don't take him in the stadium anymore We use his presence to teach about tigers in the wild and if they try to do something they will find out a lot of people who didn't sign their petition will step up and show them they are in the minority
The day Mike's cage becomes vacant, and the only way to fill it is to capture a tiger from the wild, I will say end the practice. But so long as tigers continue to be held in captivity, why shouldn't LSU obtain one and make it the most pampered and adored cat in the world?
I feel differently, the more animals that are captured and put in zoo's the better, insures genetic diversity of the species. Might as well collect as many as possible before they go extinct in the wild,.. that's the way I see it anyhow.
As long as the zoos are able to provide a qualiy life for the animals. I haven't been to the Audubon zoo in ages but when I was a kid some of the conditions were deplorable.
Modern zoo animals have it made, free apartment, paid utilities, medical dental, conjugal visits, swimming pool,.. the list goes on and on
If they have 70k signed against, I’m sure we could double that in a couple of hours to keep him. Majority wins! And yes, as many have said, Mike is in the best place he could be!
Mike isn't a wild tiger, he was born into captivity and can't survive in the wild. If he wasn't in his mansion at LSU, he might have ended up in some dirty, roadside "zoo". PETA is ignorant.
