Auburn gave up their points late in the game (against backups).. so I'm tired of that poor argument. Auburn lead 47-17 going into the 4th. Did you miss the entire Miss St vs LSU game? Miss St made TONS of mistakes.. far more than LSU did. Most of them weren't forced errors, either. It's painfully obvious that you're just being a homer -- which is admirable -- but don't act like this team is good. I'm not sure they should be in the top-15 at this point in time.
great! North Texas didn't give up 17 AFTER 4 qtrs. neither did that 1-AA team. boy am i super impressed now!!!!! holy sh!t i'm going out and buy an Auburn hat!!! woohoo!!!! i did watch the game. and not once did i see the MSU qb pitch a ball to wide open d-lineman on his own 15 yard line to let LSU take the lead. i also didn't see the MSU qb throw the exact same pass to a different wide open d-lineman in the backfield yet again to extend the lead. maybe i missed that part, but i don't think so.
I've been saying this all along. Why open up the play book against teams we can beat easily? We have new coaches and young QB do we really want to give the teams like Florida a chance to prepare for us? Seriously, a lot of the fans here see the glass half empty, when I see if half full. That warning CLM said about the passing game is spot on. I almost want to make some bets on LSU the next 2 weeks for straight up W's. I have a feeling that in 3 weeks, LSU will be known as one of the best 3 teams in the country and the idiots on sportscenter will be calling CLM a genius.
I said this before the season and I will say it again. Not to say we don't have areas that need improvement. I believed then and still do that this season is going to be tight in the SEC with 10-2 records being the best, a couple of 9-3 teams, and at least 9 making bowl games. So far this looks to be a possibility. Close, ugly wins maybe an aspect of this season.
So you believe we kept the playbook limited even though we were a goal line stand (with 1 minute left on the clock!) against Miss St? That's comical man. What you saw is what we have -- you'll see a few new but subtle wrinkles.. but for the most part..
LSU is rebuilding this year with a new quarterback and a new defense. Pre-season predictions for us were 10-2 at best, 9-3 likely, and 8-4 possible.
youre right. with improved Arky, Auburn, MissSt, USC, and maybe UT something has to give. it could just be the records of the mid-tier teams, but it might mean 1 more loss for the top 4.
