We are losing our nation to lies about the necessity of war

Those words spoke by Dennis Kucinich.

While most of his views IMO are very liberal his stance on the war is spot on. I mean seriously we sent 12 billion to Iraq, and don't know where 9 billion went. Now we are smuggling 3.9 billion into Afghan to pay off people.

Do you honestly think this war has anything to do with our national security or promoting peace?

Even though you may not like what McChrystal said, we should learn from his viewpoint.

i completely agree with you, and i don't think it is fair that Obama doesn't take as much flack as the previous administration did for their military policies. We have no strategy, if you listen to the president, well all he said our strategy was "is to stop the taliban's momentum". Is this a basketball game? WTF????

 

Declare war..

 

A President cannot fight a war and please his political base simultaneously. If Obama wants to subdue the Taliban and, by extension, al qaeda, he has to take the gloves off and use our military might to get it done. If he wants to give the illusion of fighting the Taliban while mollifying the weak hearted among us by pussyfooting around collateral damage and setting withdrawal dates, then he might as well bring the troops home now. By the time al qaeda regroups we will, hopefully, have a real Commander in Chief in the White House.

 

Define "get it done" . Define "win". Define "success".

You can't.

 

Success is, after spending spending 2 trillion dollars, having created a western democracy with worse prospects than the African nation of Chad.

 

Convince al qaeda it's in their best interests to leave us the fk alone

No, its actually pretty sound. The problem is with all the namby pamby ROE lets kill them softly bullsh!t. Do I need to go on my really big effing bombs rant again? Trouble is too many here are in love with our enemy and don't want them hurt. The longer we play nice with them the longer it will last and the more lives we will lose.
