i bet it killed him to have to wear all that P&G. i thought it was pretty cool. i usually don't care for holtz's idiocy... but, i have to say that i think that LSU can do this. the offense got 100 percent better against UGA. it was on the road, and we had problems in the redzone. we haven't regressed too much this season, so i don't expect it now. i think our offense will get even better this week. LSU usually plays well in HUGE games. well, this is the hugest of them all. probably bigger than any of the BCSNCGs, IMO. why? because it's at TIGER STADIUM. AT NIGHT. AGAINST THE SEC!!!! and who cares about the rain!? we have seen rain in just about every game this season it seems.

i honestly have NO idea how we're going to run the ball against florida. and quite frankly i don't see the rain helping LSU at all. we need to be able to pass to be successful, because i don't think we can beat anyone the caliber of florida being one-dimensional. plus, florida doesn't have the best receivers anyway, so the rain doesn't hurt them as much. special teams are going to be very important, like usual. i really hope that we're able to establish the run saturday night. with shepard and holiday, we should be able to at least keep florida guessing. i sure hope the guys have been working on the option this week in practice because this is probably the ONLY time that i'd like to see it.

and will we FINALLY see shepard run the true wildcat? with at least three or four designed plays rather than the played-out run?

i think this game will be low scoring a la the UGA game. i see TONS of missed opportunities by both teams. and, IF we lose, i hope the team doesn't give up like they did after Bama last season.

As long as the offense doesn't give the game away like they did against Bama I think a close loss will do no harm to the team mentality.

hope so. i gotta believe that this team is more mature in some ways than the team last season. plus i think that guys like ciron and chuck and lafell are the vocal leaders that were missing from last season. can't wait till tomorrow!

ThanksLou you made my night. Ive been seeing more and more media picking LSU. That's good motivation to piss off the Gators. It's better to not have everyone saying you will win. Yay. I can sleep good tonite knowing more and more on espn are rooting for the Tigers. I know you guys can win this just makes me happy cause I hate it when they all say we will win.

i'm not so sure, man. i think people are picking LSU because they fear appearing that they make homer picks. what i mean is, any of those pundits will have to pick a viable upset at some point. with tebow not likely to play, the fact that this is a home game for an LSU team that is (in my opinion) flying under the radar, why not? do those people actually think LSU would have a chance on a neutral site with a healthy florida team? i don't think so. this way, they can cover their azzes. it's kind of a back-handed compliment. LSU should have PLENTY of locker-room material from florida players and coaches this week. i don't think that the majority of america thinks LSU can (or will) beat florida. they're just tired of tebow and urban cryer and are hoping LSU takes advantage of the intangibles (or like you say, the tangibles) and beats florida. when it comes down to the picks by the guys who supposedly matter, you will see UF GATORS as across the board picks. :yelwink2:

I sincerely believe LSU can take this game with a limited Tebow or a redshirt at death valley. I just know players can buy into the hype and it's good if opinions are split on the matter to dispel any cockiness etc. So the more high profiles on espn who pick LSU the better for us. I can't claim to read their motives on it just glad it's happening.

i suppose, but i'm used to LSU getting the so-called "shaft." so much so that i don't really give a care what the pundits are saying. pretty much ever.

I don't care either what the pundits say but I know when everyone is picking a team and saying how much better their stats are than the other team, that info gets to the players(cause they are not sequested jurors) and can breed a mental laziness and false confidence. So I think underdogs have more passion so it's nice when not everyone is dissing one team and congratulating the other before it's even played.

I think this young team is beginning to find it's identity... everyone thought we'd lose to UGA, but we didn't... we've won all our games to this point... this team is learning it can win, mabybe not pretty... but non of bamas games were pretty last year, we keep it up we'll be getting 1st place votes.

Man, and just as I was starting to really believe we could do it, we get the kiss of death!

He makes a great point, and that is a great speech.
