We are at least one year away from being a serious challenger for the SEC West Division.

Too much inexperience at key positions; including quarterback, linebacker, and defense backs. Pat Peterson is the only SEC caliber DB in our lineup at present.

The RB stable is not ready. The best players are most likely Ford and Ware, both will not see significant playing time this season.

We will struggle against every good team we play this season. Hopefully we can win more than we loose.

If this is your team, support them through this season; next season will be much better!

AGAIN?!? How many years we get to play that card. Teams can't be perennially young. We haul in top recruiting classes year after year so there's a problem somewhere.

And last year it was Ridley; the year before Keiland. What happens when it's their turn?

Pat Peterson is a man among boys. Pat Peterson's don't grow on trees.

Should "good teams" be cakewalks? I'm going to just stay loose and see.

    I aint goin nowear.

Or under this coaching staff and without PP we're a year away from a 4-8 or a 3-9 season.

Patrick Peterson will be gone and our defense will be swiss cheese.

    Get real, my man.

What, Jefferson is gonna be a 9th year senior and the light is finally gonna come on?

Actually the OP is right. We're a year away from utter disaster.

LSU pay's Miles almost 4 million a year and we have had two so-so seasons in a row and now you are saying we have to wait another year. Man, I hope you are wrong.

Our defense will be loaded. Reid, Mathieu, Minter, Mingo, Montgomery, Ego, etc.

Jefferson will continue to play good if not great football. He may never be an All-SEC quarterback but if Jason Campbell can lead his team to 14-0 as a senior after his early struggles, I don't see why Jordan Jefferson can't make another jump between now and the time he leaves.

And the coaching staff will be different if the offense doesn't improve. Crowton will make way for Gonzales and that'll be that.

We have more young talent on this team than experienced talent. That is just the state of the team right now. Credit should go to the coaching staff for pulling in two straight awesome recruiting classes.

It will be tough to say goodbye to Peterson, but the future is still brighter than the present.

I have to agree with @lsutiga. How many years are we going to say that NEXT year will be the year. We have had top ten recruiting classes for years, but its always lack of talent or maturity discussion? I say nay. If we had a championship caliber COACHING staff, they could put pet monkeys on the field and have them play more inspired and more disciplined than this. LSU isn't a bad team, but with the talent that we have on both sides of the ball we should be serious contenders every year in the SEC. I'm not going to act like our coaching staff is the worst and that they are completely to blame but they need to wake up and realize that something just isn't matching up here (talent vs performance).

So what in the past oh say 3 years gives you the frame of mind to formulate the thought process that Les Miles can acuttaly progress a team from the begining to the end of the year..through the offseason..fall and spring..and return with a better product.

IF TALENT ALONE won games then I would have to agree with ya....but ya gotta have someone to use that talent, know how to pull the trigger and most importantly.....make sure the barrel is pointed downrange
